“The Charge of the Goddess”
Invocation- ‘ She is the dark night and the black soil that holds within itself the intense powers of light, the secrets and forces of all life. She is the mouth, the vagina, the passionate and wise source from which all comes and to which all returns… The black-winged night laid a silver egg(the moon) in the womb of darkness, in the dark waters. The divine one resided in that egg during a whole year. Then she by herself alone divided the two halves and out of theses halves She formed heaven and earth. We are here to turn the Wheel once more and honor the Lady’s beasts. We are here to give thanks this first harvest for the creatures that are our companions. We welcome them to this circle. Meditation- Imagine yourself as a she-wolf running free, leading the pack, high priestess of animals. Scent the air, nurse your puppies, call your mate…. Imagine a dog or cat on the street struggling to survive. See the world from her view for awhile. Be that dog or cat and give her love, comfort and blessing… Then imagine yourself as your own pet. See her life and your life from her eyes. Be a cat or dog taking care of her human. Realize how she takes care of you. Send your love. Come back to now.
Body of Ritual- Talk about your experience in meditation. Then talk about your relationship with your own pet. The hold up a picture or your pet and say: (Name), I thank you for being in my life because………. I honor your Be-ing. I wish for you a long, peaceful and happy life. I ask you to be ……….in my life as my partner and companion ( Touch the animals 3rd eye w/oil or corn meal) Present a charm to your pet, to be put on its collar. Bless it in the name on the Goddesses of Animals, charging it for protection.
Raise power- Raise the power with the help of a flute or recorder. Visualize a circle of blue light surrounding you and your pet and visualize the two of you together. Be Goddesses, Diana and her hound. Bast and her cats, etc. Make your pet gift of every wish you want for her health, long life, prosperity, and happiness. Offer it to her as the charm from the ritual. Let the music play awhile before stopping it. Direct the cone of power to making those gifts manifest and to protection for your pet.
