We are sorry that we do not have more to put on this page at the moment. This was my notes from The Wicca Bible By: Ann-Marie Gallagher. We will be putting more on soon, hopefully. Al Selden Leif Alchemy is the study of metals. The first known adept of alchemy was Hermes Trismegistus who lived in Egypt almost four thousand years ago. He is credited with writing the Hermetica, 42 volumes embodying magickal and spiritual philosophies and outlining sacred rituals. It was practiced in China and in the Far East and the early Greek philosophers generated theories about the composition of matter influenced its development, particularly regarding the theory of the elements Air, Fire, Water and Earth. It came to Europe in medieval times via Arabian adepts working in Spain. In the medieval times people tried to turn base metals into Gold.
