Thank you for coming to these pages. As a Runic Oracle I read and use the Runes a little differently than others. I have only recently started studying wiccan rituals and because of this I came to the use of divination and Runes from a different view point. I have been studying and using the runes for several years. I have always been able to find missing objects, finish sentences, find missing words, and find divination very easy. You will notice on the left side that I have a few pages listed. As time goes on I may even expand these pages, or even add more pages. I have also put my own e-mail address there as well. If you have any questions, please ask. The pictures of the runes that are on these pages are actual pictures of my first set of stones. These are the ones that you get when you get the book by Richard H. Blum. You will find a list of books at the bottom of this introduction. I have gathered information from all of these books, some I use more often than others. All are good. As with all information, use what feels right to you. The more information you have, the more you have to choose from, the clearer your path will be. The wand pictured on this page is mine. It is one that had called to me for some time. It is curly maple. It sits on top of a set of boxes that I use for various magical practices. Not having a wiccan background I don't have a typical alter, what I have is a beautiful set of three boxes that I use as a focal point for my simple rituals, and bind runes. When I first started studying the runes I took them out of their packageing and handled them all one by one as I put them in the bag that came with them. I then put the bag against my heart and kept it there while I read the book they came with. While I was at home, I would keep them close to my heart, in this way they were charged with my energy. After a time I crocheted a bag to keep them in. If you can't keep them close to your heart, then put them under your pillow at night, this also helps impart your energy to them. In part, it is your own energy that helps to interpret the meanings of a reading. When doing a reading for someone, I have them hold on to the bag while concentrating on their question. While they are concentrating on their question, I am also holding thier hands and concentrating on the phrase "What is the best course for this person". I don't have them ask the question out loud, I find that if I know the person I'm reading for I end up interjecting my own ideas of what would be best for them, and that isn't always what is best for them. They then pick the runes out of the bag for their reading. Here is the list of books that I have, have read, and use. These are by no means the only books that are out there, this is just a place to start. The Book Of Runes by: Richard H. Blum ISBN: 0-312-09758-1/set This is the one that has a set of runes with it. This is the one I used for the interpretations. This is good one for beginning your studies. A Practical Guide to The Runes by: Lisa Peschel ISBN: 0-87542-592-3 She is wiccan and has put a lot of information on the magical uses of the runes. I use this one for bind runes, and colors. The Book of Runes by: Francis Melville ISBN: 0-7641-5551-2 This one has some very beautiful pictures, and an intersting history. |
