Major and Minor Arcana Submitted by AlleyCat 1. Tarot is divided into 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana cards, which are divided among 4 suits; Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles. Each suit has 10 numbered (pip) cards and 4 court cards; Page, Knight, Queen and King. Some decks have Knave instead of Page. 2. The 22 trumps of the Major Arcana describe the archetypal stages of life that all of us experience. The Fool represents the beginning of this journey.
