~*~ Music ~*~
Welcome to my music page. Take music away and you leave me lifeless. Some artists have marked me more than others, their music having brought me incredible moments of joy, sorrow, introspection, and neverending reverie.
Having three older sisters, music was always heard anywhere in the house as I was growing up. Being educated at the National School of Music certainly must have also helped grow my addiction. The first artist I can remember being in total awe with is Kate Bush. I was 11 and got 'Lionheart' for Christmas. My adoration for her has never slipped since. David Bowie was the second one I was mesmerized with. I can undeniably put both of them at the top of my 'top 10 favourite artists of all time'. Many ensued, but I guess the closest I can put anyone to either of them is David Sylvian. I discovered David Sylvian in 1981 when he was fronting Japan, unfortunately for me, Japan split up only one year later. But he started a solo career and throughout the years, his music has simply remained beautiful and has never ceased to move me.
Although my main musical interests lay within the darkwave / industrial genre, those three artists have earnt my deepest respect.
This page is dedicated to them, and to the many others who brighten my heart.
Happy browsing, and thank you for visiting!
Kate Bush
Biography
Kate was born on 30 July 1958 in Bexley Heath, Kent, England. She began violin lessons at the age of 9 but interest in the piano soon took over. She was introduced to EMI by David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and got signed up whilst she was still at school.
She is not married, but you should bury all hopes since her bassist and engineer, Del Palmer, is her one and only for many years now. Kate smokes, but is (usually) very reluctant to show this bad habit in public. She is a vegetarian, though she now eats fish. She's 5'3" (1.60m). She has two brothers, John Carder Bush (Jay), born 1944 (who takes many of the photos of Kate that appear on her albums) and Paddy Bush, born 1952 (who plays many of the exotic instruments found on Kate's albums).
She appeared on Saturday Night Live (show #78h in the SNL Episode Guide) on December 9 1978 (With host Eric Idle of Monty Python), but the tape you can purchase of that show has her edited out!
And finally, no, it was not Kate Bush but rather Kate Simmons who appeared nude in Penthouse several years ago. (These pictures were also used on the bootleg Dreamtime.)

Her first single "Wuthering Heights" in January, 1978 became a No. 1 hit. Her debut album "The Kick Inside" was released in February 1978 and went on to sell over one million copies in the U.K. Her following album, "Lionheart" was released shortly after in December 1978.
She made her live debut with a 30-date European tour in the Spring of 1979. Each show lasted 2.5 hours, and was a mixture of music, dance and mime, it was a complete sell-out.
"Never For Ever", released in September 1980, became her first No.1 LP.

"Hounds Of Love", yet another No.1 album, was released in September 1985. It includes the hit single "Running Up That Hill" and "Cloudbusting". The video for "Cloudbusting", wich features Donald Sutherland, remains one of the most memorable pop videos ever.
In 1986 Kate duets with Peter Gabriel on the Top 10 single "Don't Give Up" and released her first retrospective "The Whole Story" in November, a No.1 multi-platinum success.
"The Sensual World", featuring guest artists Nigel Kennedy and The Trio Bulgarka, was released in October 1989 and became her 7th Top 10 album.
Kate makes an appearance as a blood-spattered bride in The Comic Strip TV film Les Dogs (1990).
The boxed set, "This Woman's Work" was released in October 1990.
Kate's version of Elton John/Bernie Taupin classic "Rocket Man" was released as a single. Taken from the "Two Rooms" tribute album it reached No.12 on the chart in December 1991.
