AoP: Firstly, whats the band up to?
Daz Ryder: Right now we're negotiating some serious management. We're showcasing for Northern Music (Paradise Lost, Skindred, One Minute Silence) this coming Friday in Bradford, then back to the Midlands for a support show for the Wildhearts on Saturday... things are getting busy!

AoP: How would you describe the original sound of Adrenalin Kick?
DR: The original Sound was a kind of Punk/Power Metal - heavy and melodic! We've kept true to that - but just incorporated a whole bunch of other stuff in there too!

AoP: How would you describe the current sound of the band?
DR: Techno - Rock! We are "THE" Techno Rock Infusion!

AoP: How did Adrenalin Kick start back in 96?
DR: From the ashes of Skeleton Swing... Mick (Vocals) basically put the band together, and although there have been a few rhythm section line-up changes, we've been solid since then.

AoP: What made you want to change your sound back in 99?
DR: Well - our rehearsal room got turned over - they stole everything but Guitar amp cabinets and the drums! I lost so much equipment, but thankfully I also had good insurance. Always being a fan of industrial music, and having a large cash sum, we were given the opportunity to update our gear. I went totally computer based, and invested in a sampler, a few synths... then spent a year or two learning how to wire it all up and use it all... the result is what you hear from us now! Mick was getting heavily into some dance stuff, and like I said - I've always been into industrial stuff... Mark (drummer) really got into break beat based stuff... so it was just a natural progression once we had the tools to do what was previously out of our reach!

AoP: Who are your influences?
DR: Influences or Inspirations? Hard to define the difference really - but influences you can probably tell better than we can by just listening to see if anything comes through. for the new material - there were so many inspirations... from Massive Attack to Shotgun Messiah to Appollo 440 to Methods of Mayhem to... God - I dunno - loads of stuff - we just threw everything we liked intoa melting pot and worked at it until it all gelled! Cool!.. LOL!

AoP: What are your favourite Adrenalin kick songs?
DR: That changes daily - although right now I think "Equinox" and "Fantastic" are in pole position!

AoP: What are your favourite all-time songs?
DR: Whew... tough one! My all time fave must be Van Halen - Jump! Cos it's just such a feel good track! Fond memories from that... and sitting learning that solo.... Lynch Mob - "Tangled in your Web" too - George Lynch is just one of the coolest guitarists ever... and that song to me is just bursting with feel! Then U2 - "Bullet the Blue Sky"... Sheer Power.

AoP: What was the first record you bought?
DR: Urrr.... pass! LOL! Really? 8 years old and it was "Mull of Kintyre" by Wings (Paul McCartney)... no wonder I now hate Bag pipes!

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?
DR: Wasn't that the first David Lee Roth band line up in '86 - DD, Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan and Greg Bissonette?...
Now? Hmmmm ...now this would be interesting:  Bass - Flea (Chilli's), Vox - Lajon (Sevendust), Drums - Tommy Lee, Guitar - Me... 'cos that would just rock like f**k!!!

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?
DR: Aaargh! - Can of worms!!! I'll just say that it's great to hear more rock music coming to the fore ... this last year has seen some high profile acts , and not so high profile acts break into the mainstream. That can only be good. ... as for the stagnating music industry - God forbid... lets just hope there will always be people out there who like to hear original, self-composed music.

AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can share with us?
DR: - how many do you want?..LOL! Did you know that Adrenalin Kick ARE Spinal Tap? We've lived nearly every moment of that film... ha! ha! ha!... We've left band members at ferry ports... had van break downs for highly important gigs (and only the important ones too!) - played gigs to four people and a dog... and watched as the dog upped and left!! (f***er didn't even pay to get in either!!), the odd run in with the police, cases of mistaken identity... so many, but for full details you may have to wait for the biography.. ha! ha! ha! Life is never dull!

AoP: and finally what do you see in the future for Adrenalin Kick?
DR: - the future is bright!!!.... so watch this space! There is no one who comes close to what we do....
