Albums of Purgatory interview Aitherios
Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, what are you up to right now?
Aitherios: We are recording our first full length CD, "Sins of the Flesh". Stay
posted on www.aitherios.com for updates.
AoP: How would you describe the Aitherios sound?
Aitherios: An interesting hybrid of all genres of metal, mixed with renaissance
instruments (Cello, Mandolin, Flute, Psaltry) and haunting female vocals.
AoP: How did you get involved with the band?
Aitherios: I had an ad out, was contacted by Maelar, and we merged perfectly.
AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?
Aitherios: It was at a little hole-in-the-wall bar. It was actually very fun, and
the crowd went ape shit for us.
AoP: What are your favourite Aitherios tracks?
Aitherios: "Rendezvous in Nocturn"
AoP: What are your favourite all time songs or albums?
Aitherios: Currently, my Favorite CD is Battlelore- Where the Shadows Lie
Some Others:
Megadeth- Rust in Peace
Dream Theater- Metropolis
Rush- Working Man
AoP: What was the first record you bought?
Aitherios: HA! I was around 8 years old...I bought Stone Temple Pilots- Core
AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?
Aitherios: Roy Khan (Kamelot)- Lead vocals
Lilith (Aitherios)- vocals
John
Petrucci (Dream Theater)- guitars
Andre
Olbrich (Blind Guardian)- guitars
Vortex
(Dimmu Borgir)- Bass/vocals
Mike
Portnoy (Dream Theater)- Drums
Jordon
Rudess (Dream Theater)- Keyboards
That would be nonsense...
AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in
general today?
Aitherios: In a way, I guess it is making a "comeback". Being from America, all
I see is "nu-metal", which grates on my nerves.
AoP: Which other bands in the scene really stand out for you
at the moment?
Aitherios: Battlelore
Opeth
Tristania
AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can
share with us?
Aitherios: I could go on forever...we have a band clutz, and there was this
incident with a rolo...
AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for
Aitherios?
Aitherios: I see Aitherios moving overseas, I see us writing many more CD's, I see us
moving to a descent label...I see many things...
