Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, whats the band up to right now?
Christiansen: Were getting ready to live for tour with Glassjaw and Boy Sets Fire
AoP: How would you describe the Christiansen sound?
C: Im not sure thats always a hard one. Kerrang described us as
Post-Hardcore with soul
AoP: How did the band begin in 98?
C: It started as sort of a side project and evolved into a serious thing. Weve all
been friends for all of our lives pretty much so it came together quite nicely.
AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?
C: It was at a pizza place it was fucked up because we were all in hardcore bands before
this. It was nice to be playing something different though.
AoP: How do you feel your sound has changed since 98, up
until the new recording, 'Forensics Brothers and Sisters'?
C: Its more original. Its our coming out record
AoP: What are your favourite Christiansen tracks?
C: Jhazz Never Spelled So Good and The Era of Murder By Simulation
off of FBS!
AoP: What are your favourite all time songs or albums?
C: Refused: The Shape Of Punk To Come
AoP: What was the first record you bought?
-C: aruca Salt: American Thighs
AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?
C: Brandon Bondehagen on Vocals/Guitar, Robby Scott on Guitar, Brad Magers on Bass and
Terry Campbell on drums.
AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in
general today?
C: The music industry as well as the rest of the world is finally giving praise to the
music that people like us knew was good all along. They were just never exposed to it.
AoP: Which other bands really stand out for you at the
moment?
C: Glassjaw and Pretty Girls Make Graves. Its awesome to have people that are not
only good friends but in amazing bands.
AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can
share with us?
C: We met Jerry Springer once when we where on tour in Florida!
AoP: And finally, what do you see in the future for
Christiansen?
C: Widespread domination.
