Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, what's the band up to now the album is done?

Sascha Pahlke: Hi there! Well, we are really hot if the sickos out there will like the album. We really gave our best and weīre proud how the album turned out. On this album are the best songs we ever did and we wanna promote the album as much as possible

AoP: What can we expect from the new release?

SP: As I said, these are the best songs weīve ever recorded!! Although we composed all the songs in mid-tempo, there is much more intensity and brutality. And of course, the songs are catchy as hell!!!! After the OPUS(SY)VI album we thought that it would need a little "change" cause we did not want a second OPUS(SY)VI album - we wanted to develope and improve our sound. And the result is the "SADOCHISMO" - album which we are very proud of. I donīt wanna say more, just listen to the album and get your own opinion!!!!!! BULLDOZER BONDAGE GORE!!!!!!!!!!

AoP: So do you have any touring planned?  Are there any official dates yet?

SP: There no tour planned until now ! But we try to come to the US in spring 2003. If the touring wonīt happen, we defenately come for the Ohio Deathfest, thatīs for sure. But we try to tour the states early 2k3!!! Be prepared, hahaha. We play now some festivals and concerts in Europe, but due to lack of free-time we canīt afford to play more now cause  we have to study.

AoP: How did Cock and Ball Torture begin in '97?

SP: well, before we started COCK AND BALL TORTURE we all played in a band called Carnal Tomb. But we only recorded one demo-tape and then quitted the band due to some personal problems. after a whil we wanted to play music again and we decided to play no death metal from now on.Instead we wanted to creat the most brutal and heavy mosh-music !!!! And thatīs how CBT started back in 97. Nowadays we can say that we reached our aim to creat our unique style- cause no other band sounds like CBT in anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AoP: Who came up with the name?

SP: I donīt remember it, really. But one of us watched TV and there came a report bout CBT and we thought that this would be a perfect name coz it is unique and fits totally in our concept!

AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?

SP: Oh yes, of course!!! it was on christmas day 1998 and we played 1 1/2 hours in front of a totally insane and stoned croud!!! we just wanted to play a set of about  45 minutes but they wanted more and more!! I wonīt forget this concert!!

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?

SP: Oh, that one of the hardest question to answer. I think metal music ( I really mean all types of metal ) is gaining more and more respect from the whole music industry. With the so called NU-Metal bands the whole metal gets more and more popular and thatīs really great. and the music in general was, is and will ever be an important culturell aspect for mankind. Music is as important as sex!Hahaha! Hope you understand what I mean!

AoP: What are your favourite Cock and Ball Torture tracks?

SP: thatīs a really simple question. I love all tracks on the new album. On the last Cd there are some songs which I donīt like very much and we only played about 6 or 7 songs from the OPUS(SY)VI album on stage, we never played the other songs again after the recording sessions coz they were to ??. And now for the first time  it was really hard to say what songs will be on the album and what songs not. that was such a hard decision you canīt believe it!! so every song is a total killer especially  the songs "where girls learn to piss on command" and "colon latino" they simply rule!!

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

SP: well, I think all songs of CARCASS are totally cult but I canīt say if there are some special songs which I like the most. I listen to a lot of music also pop, rock and gothic music and so my musical background goes from Elton John to CARCASS  and from LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY to Jennifer Rush! If you think Iīm crazy: I am !!!!!!!!

AoP: What was the first record you bought?

SP: I think it was Michael Jackson " thriller" and I bought it together with my brother Sascha , but the second one was Iron Maiden " 7th son...." I guess, but it is that long ago ...........

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

SP: We have our dream line-up!! We always used a singer on stage, coz noone of us was possible to sing and play the instrument, but we decided to practice and practice all the day long so that now Tobi ( guitar ) and Myself ( Bass) are responsible for the singing!!!!!!That rules !!!!!!! We never wnna take a fourth member or anyone else into the band coz we are a small "family" on our own!!HAHAHA

AoP: Do you have any unusual or funny stories about the band you can share with us?

SP: sorry man, but I canīt remember all the shit that happend!!

AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for Cock and Ball Torture?

SP: I hope that the album will be a killer one!!!!!! we made the best music possible and I really know that the sickos will recognize that and will love the album!!!! Also we wanna tour the US if possible and Europe , too. So we just wanna have fun by playing our music and that is the most important thing
