Albums of Purgatory interview Doxomedon
Albums of Purgatory: What’s the band up to right now?
Joe: Doxomedon is currently writing new songs and looking forward for the recording. Hopefully, by mid 2003.
AoP: How would you describe the Doxomedon sound?
J: simply rocks!
AoP: How did you get involved with the band?
J: I’ve played with Sham(guitars) and Azli(drummer of Ex-Martyrdom)previously and we did meet at the rehearsal Studio ocassionally when I was still playing in Ossuary (Singapore). Their music is sick and man...i was struck by their capabilities . Well, right after I left Ossuary, I was approached by Azli to replace Xul (of ex-Impiety)who quit the band.
AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?
J: Hmm, it was in ’99 , we played in Chaos’99 at a place called Fire Disco,in front of about 400 chaotic metalfreaks.I almost wrecked my new SG bass with the amps and it was a great gig.
AoP: What sort of reaction have you been getting from fans and press since the EP was released?
J: It was great..The response was tremendous and positive.
AoP: What are your favourite Doxomedon tracks?
J: Prysmthytic Refractious.why? i simply don't know.
AoP: What are your favorite all time songs?
J: hmm..there are so many of em...
AoP: What was the first record you bought?
J: can't remember what was it.
AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?
J: I am playing in my dream band.
AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?
J: I personally think metal today is well received and raised even to a higher level, unlike back then when its written off as "just noise and crap".
AoP: Which other bands in the scene really stand out for you at the moment?
J: don’t know. just too many of them to mention..
AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can share with?
J: well,i don't think theres anything funny about any of these sick guys i'm playing with.
