Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, whats the band up to?

Sean Corbray:  we've been rehearsing preparing for a tour this summer and some local shows around the dfw area.

AoP: How would you describe the Embodyment sound?
SC:  it's a mixture of up and mid tempo rock.

AoP: How did the band begin in 1993?
SC:  it was basically some friends in high school who decided to make the heaviest music possible together.

AoP: Who are your influences?

SC:  it hard to say now because we all listen to very different types of music.  i honestly couldn't put my finger on it.

AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?

SC:  if i remember right it was quite the disaster, but we had loads of fun and energy so everything was great.  we all just kinda winged it, but the audience seemed to be enjoying themselves.  we're very professional.

AoP: What are your favourite Embodyment tracks?

SC:   well, i'm mad about all the new songs we've written and i really like 'one less addiction' because people really seem to take to that one.

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

SC:  i listen to far too much music to give a sure answer.  however, right now i'm really feeling the doors, weezer, david bowie, and the hives.  i'm also very anxious about the new oasis record.

AoP: What was the first record you bought?
SC:  probably something shocking that i don't want to reveal.  but the first record that moved me like no other was pearl jam's 'ten' album.  for the next few years i was a slave to grunge.

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

SC: i'd like to here jim morrison singing over some dj shadow tracks. i know it's a bit random but i'm also getting into dance and techno music too.  the trip hop stuff is great with the right vocals, and i think jim morrison would sound great over some cool, trippy beats.

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?
SC:  overblown, easy, and a lack of creativity.  but i don't really care for metal anyhow.  there's the mad disease called nu-metal ,then you have your underground metal, both of which i feel lack serious substance.  but hey, you're asking a rock n roll kid about metal.

AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can share with us?

SC:  yeah, we change members every week and i've been told that people compare us to Creed.   most of the funny stories with the band you just have to be there.  i mean we wrestle , fart on each other, score on each other, and have this addiction for ping-pong like a bunch  of limp-wrist tarts.

AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for Embodyment?
SC:  more rock, more shows, more tunes, more interviews.
