Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, what's the band up to?

Jari Kuusisto: Right now we are writing new songs for the 4 CF album.

AoP: How did Carnal Forge begin in 97?

JK: It was me and Stefan that formed the band. Just because we always had talked about playing this kind of music. And we just felt that now was the right time to do that.

AoP: What caused the band to disappear for a couple of years shortly after the release of who's gonna burn?

JK: Our former label WAR Music was the main reason. They didn’t do any promotion for us and we just waited for something to happen. Finally when nothing happened we decided to go separate ways with War and do new songs to see if anyone else could be interested. This took a pretty long time and we were pretty frustrated for a long time. But everything turned out ok.

AoP: the band has suffered a few line-up changes. Has that ever been difficult to cope with?

JK: No not really. Many of our friends are musicians and we just needed to find the right one’s for CF. CF is 100% and that’s what we demand for all of the members to.

AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?

JK: Our first gig with CF was pretty scary. It was a local gig and all our friends was there. It turned out really ok and many of our friends were suprised how tight we were live. I don’t think that you can get much better reviews than that for the first gig with a new band.

AoP: Do you have any touring planned at the moment?

JK: We are going to do some gig’s here in Sweden and later in june a festival in Poland called Smash Fest. But now longer tours right now. We had to turn down 2 USA tours because some of the other band members had already took some other commitments. But we hope to go there, asap, maybe for the next record.

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?

JK: It seems pretty healthy. I think that it still can get bigger and just hope for that.

AoP: What are your favourite Carnal Forge tracks?

JK: There are so many but just to mention a few I would say Everything Dies, Too much hell ain’t enough for me, Totalitarian Torture and Who’s gonna burn.

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

JK: War ensemble with Slayer

AoP: What was the first record you bought?

JK: Don’t remember but I think it was some Kiss album.

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

JK: The line up we have in CF right now.

AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can share with us?

JK: I got arrested at the 2000 Decibel festival for breaking some guys nose while watching Haunted. I didn’t understand anything why they arrested me. After a couple of hours explaining that they must have taken the wrong guy. I was released and they finally found the right guy.  Of course I was innocent.

AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for Carnal Forge?

JK: Hopefully Carnal Forge World Domination TourJ
