Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, what's the band up to?

Jed:We are in rehearsal for the upcoming With Full Force and Dynamo festivals...We are also doing some club dates as well and we have to work out how much pyro and stage set we can bring with us...

AoP: How would you describe the Zimmers Hole sound?

Jed:All metal...all the time...a 'Hats Off' to all of our heros!

AoP: How did the band begin in the first half of the '90s?

Jed:A friend needed a band for his club and asked us if we could do the show...we said sure even though we did'nt HAVE a band...in a week we put together the group,wrote some songs and did the show...those songs are gone,but here we are 10 years later!!

AoP: You are also a part of Strapping Young Lad.  How did that band come about?

Jed:We have always known each other and played in each others bands...when Dev put SYL together,he just brought me over from his Noisescapes project and from there it took a few years for the line-up to happen(Gene and Byron).We are a tight little unit now..haha!

AoP: What's it like to work with Devin Townsend?

Jed:Well,we are all a big family over here so working with him is just 2nd nature...know what I mean?

AoP: Was it always a plan to do another Zimmers Hole release even though it's been so long since the last?

Jed:We never planned to do another...it just happened.I think we realised that we had a good fucking band on our hands and we needed to prove it.We are very proud of Legion of Flames..it is a great snapshot into what we are.

AoP: What are your favourite Zimmers Hole tracks?

Jed: For me...Death to the Dodgers of Soap,Aerometh,Sodomanazz,Platinum Shine....They ALL have a special place in my heart though...

AoP: What are your favourite Strapping Young Lad tracks?

Jed: Home Nucleonics,All Hail the New Flesh,SYL, and all the new shit we have been writing!!

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

Jed: Exodus..Deliver us to Evil,AC/DC..Downpayment Blues,Slayer..At Dawn They Sleep,Dark Angel..The Death of Innocence,Morbid Angel..Rapture....there are way too many to list!!!

AoP: What was the first record you bought?

Jed: The 1st record I actually bought was Bachman Turner Overdrive...'Not Fragile'.....a true Canadian metal classic!!

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

Jed: Phil Rudd,Cliff Williams,Bon Scott,Malcolm Young and ME!!!

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?

Jed: I think it is making a slow comeback...for what reason I don't know...nostalga maybe.All music seems to do a cyclic thing...whatever,I don't care as long as it is genuine.Music in general is,well,I don't have anything nice to say so...

AoP: Do you have any funny or unusual stories about the band you can share with us?

Jed:Like the time our singer got so drunk he pissed his bed and then never threw out the mattress....and then mushrooms grew out of it?(Mushroom Mattress).Or the time our singer got so drunk he pissed all over our friends floor?(Waste Of Towels...from our 1st album).Or our singers bad luck with women?(Gender of the Beast...Well of Misfortune).Yeah,we got stories!!

AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for Zimmers Hole?

Jed:What will be will be...we will always do this because we enjoy it...this is our Saturday Night drinkin band ya know?If people like us,great!We hope to bring some good fucking times to all those who listen to our shit.That's what music is SUPPOSED to be all about.....Right!!!??
