HEAVY METAL

There aren't many good heavy metal albums released anymore but thing you can be certain of is if DIO release a new album you can expect it to be unashamedly heavy fucking metal.  a perfect example is Better in the Dark, fast 'cheesy' riffs and powerful fist-throwing structures.  On the other hand though, this album also holds some deeper songs which say more than just 'Let's rock'.  'Rock and Roll' which attacks the radio stations who thought removing rock from its sound-waves was a show of respect for the victims of September 11th, along with the emotion-tinged 'Throw Away Children' with an appearance by the King's Harbour Church Children's Choir bringing a gulp and a tear to the most hardened metaller.  From start to finish this ever-consistant CD will surprise and impress and will be one of those albums, like most DIO releases, that people will be rocking to for a long time to come.  Other highlights include 'Killing the Dragon', 'Along Comes a Spider' and 'Before the Fall'.
