Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, whats the band up to right now?
Anette Gulbrandsen: we just recorded a demo,with Morfeus of Limbonic Art and
Dimensionf3h as producer
AoP: How would you describe the Mandylion sound and what
can we expect from the new material?
AG: metal with gothic influences,we are heading towards a harder sound though
AoP: How did you get involved with the band?
AG: I formed the band with one of the guitarists,actually thtough some ad in
a music mag
AoP: Are you involved in any other projects and if you so,
how do they differ to Mandylion?
AG: I'm involved in Dimensionf3h,as a kind of a guest vocalist,you might
say.It's very different from our music,much harder,but difficult to explain.
AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?
AG: It went ok,but I had some voice problems.We also had some sound problems.
AoP: What are your favourite Mandylion tracks?
AG: Black Hole
AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?
AG: Phil Lynnott:solo in soho,The Gathering:marooned,elèanor,colorado
incident and many more.Dead can dance,Pink Floyd,Fear
Factory,Pantera,Satyricon,Emperor,Sirenia,Static-x and so many more has many
favourite songs of mine.
AoP: What was the first record you bought?
AG: Mõtley Crüe:theatre of pain and some Queen album when I was 12 yrs
AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?
AG: The Gathering
AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music
in general today?
AG: Many good bands,with and without deals and vice versa
AoP: Which other bands in the scene really stand out for
you at the moment?
AG: Sirenia
AoP: Do you have any funny stories about the band you can
share with us?
AG: Nope,not yet.But I'm sure it will be plenty
AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for
Mandylion?
AG: Hopefully a record deal and lot's of concerts!
