Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, whats the band up to?

Draakh Kimera: Right now we´re around doing some live shows. We´ve been to Finland recently and the next
gig is at the Wacken open air festival in Germany.

AoP: How would you describe the Mork-Gryning sound?

DK: Raw, fast and melodic.

AoP: How did the band begin in 93?

DK: Me and Gorgon had been playing together for a while in a death metal act before 93.
We got more and more influenced by black metal and we wanted to try it out instead so we formed Mörk Gryning.
We both had at that time a lot of black metal influenced ideas which wouldn´t fit in the death metal band.

AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?

DK: Terrible! It was some time in 98.Actually we didn´t even wanted to do that gig but we did it for this
place and the arranger who needed money.

AoP: What made the band take a break towards the end of the nineties?

DK: At that time MG was just a sideproject for us so we wanted to take a break to concentrate on our main bands for a while.  But still my main band is ETERNAL OATH even though MG is no longer a sideproject anymore.

AoP: What kind of reaction have you been getting from fans following the release of Maelstrom Chaos?

DK: Just positive reactions. We´ve been having great reviews from fans and zines for this album.

AoP: What are your favourite Mork-Gryning tracks?

DK: Don´t know.Every track has it´s own personality. But my favorite tracks to play live is "Templars" and "Maelstrom chaos".

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

DK: "Close to the edge"-YES "Of sins and shadows"-Symphony X "The loss and curse of reverence"-Emperor "Night´s blood"-Dissection

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

DK: I have my dream band line-up already.

AoP: What do you think of the position of metal and music in general today?

DK: It´s much bigger with higher quality.

AoP: Do you have any funny or unusual stories about the band you can share with us?

DK: Well, out trip to Norway for the recording of "Maelstrom chaos" was a whole long story with a lot of
fun happenings. But it shall remain confidental.

AoP: and finally, what do you see in the future for Mork-Gryning?

DK: Hopefully we can start to record a new album at the fall of this year and then go out on tour.
