Albums of Purgatory interview Nail Within

Firstly, whats the band up to right now?

We recently replaced our vocalist and we are working full time with the new one on new material, right now we have about 7 aggresive fast songs for the next album, we are also doing a show in a couple of month here in israel with some special guests. :)


How would you describe the Nail Within sound?

everyone seem to call it fast thrash metal with mellodic death metal, so as for the first album they were right!
the next album will still mix those two styles together but will be ALOT DIFFRENT than the debut. we are playing faster, more aggresive and more straight forward than you can imagine nail within play. be prepared!

How did you get involved with the band?

i just got a call one day from the bass player (of the original lineup) asking me if i wanna play guitar in a band formed after the split of AZAZEL (an israeil black metal band). to be honest, ive heared maybe 5-6 metal albums till that day, and not even one thrash/death metal album in my life, but everyone seemed nice so i said what the hell. that's how i started listening to metal at the first place, and even now my metal albums collection is very small. :)

Are you involved in any other projects and if so how do they compare to Nail Within?
we all have other projects, me and the vocalist are playing in another band called BETZEFER (www.betzefer.com), kind of hard ot describe the genre, just listen for yourself, the original bass player of nail within is playing in it as well. our current drummer is playing in an israeli group called CAMAL JAMAL which is a crazy crossover between hip hop, reggae and alot of other fun genres, the second guitar player played with the israeli death metal group Arallu for a while, and our bass player also played in an israeli metalcore group called Hall Of Shame that broke up a few years back.

What are your favourite Nail Within tracks?
defently, ALL OF THE NEW SONGS! but from the debut album i think that Inhuman Conditions and Last Nail talks to me the most, cant explain why realy.

What are your favourite all time songs?
too many to even start thinking about it.

What the first record you ever bought?
easy one, i think it was metallica - and justice for all.

Whats the last album you purchased and what did you think of it?
The Haunted - One Kill Wonder, AMAZING ALBUM!
the best metal album i heared this year. so fuckin tight and fast makes you wanna smash someones face off..

What would be your dream band line-up?
Dimebad Darrel

If you could do a cover for a tribute album to any band, which song of which band would you pick and why?
we are going to record an At The Gates song next month that will be features on a tribute album

Which other bands stand out for you at the moment?
in metal - Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and The Haunted - those three realy fuckin know how to play.

Do you have any funny stories about the band you can share with us?
yeah, but i have so much we would have to do a seperate interview just for that. :)
