Albums of Purgatory: Firstly, what's the band up to right now?

Sarke: Doing interview for a lot of mags and radios and so on. promoting the new album. We did a release consert 20.4 here in oslo. It was almost slod out and it was a great gig! Next up is quart festival here in Norway in july!

AoP: How would you describe the Khold sound?  Who are your influences?

 

S: I guess we are more inspired by the old bands like celtic frost,mayhem,darkthrone and also more bands like slayer and motorhead. But I think our sound is new and much more heavy than the older bands. I think we have our own style and sound.

AoP: What is the band history of the Khold members?

 

S: We used to be in tulus!

AoP: How was Khold formed in 2000?

 

S: Me and gard wanted to start a new band and play the music we wanted. We met up with rinn and eikind and formed khold.

AoP: Can you remember your first gig (how did it go)?

 

S: I remember it after gard told me. It was with einherjer. It went very well. The first big gig was as opening act at the inferno festival. The first band ever to play inferno. It was great and we got a lot of good feedback on that consert.

AoP: Who have been your favourite bands to gig with in the past?

 

S: The dimmu tour was ok! But I have also been support act with my old band for darkthrone and mayhem in oslo in one evening. Can you imagine! me,darkthrone and mayhem on the same bill! 

AoP: What is your favourite memory so far?

 

S: Having 3 beautiful blond girls in one evening was great! But I guess you mean music. Every khold release is big of course! It was ok to play for a packed astoria in London with gene hoglan next to me on stage!

AoP: What are your favourite Khold tracks?

 

S: Oh, its many! nattpyre, dødens grøde, svart helligdom, phantom to name a few!

AoP: What are your favourite Tulus tracks?

 

S: Many-many...inskripsjon etter jordferd, samlerens kammer, draug, søstre av natten, skuggeskip, tarantulus.

AoP: What are your favourite all time songs?

 

S: South of heaven, angle of death, would? and the transylvanian hunger album!

AoP: What was the first record you bought?

 

S: I think it was kiss in the 70`s. If you mean the darker side of music it was deathcrush in 87.

 

AoP: What would be your dream band line-up?

 

S: Sarke, gard, rinn and brandr!

AoP: What do you think of the position of Metal and music in general today?

 

S: Music is big! Metal is getting bigger every year.

AoP: Do you have any funny or unusual stories about the band you can share with us?

 

S: When we recorded phantom we hired 2 girls to strip for us and we called it studio expenses!

AoP: and finally, following the release of 'Phantom', what do you see in the future for Khold?
