     This beautiful example of a Victorian Gothic-Revival residence stands on the largest residential block of land in center town. Entering from Park Street the semi-circular tree lined drive takes you to the original two storey Carriage House.      This fine house was built in 1876 for the wealthy merchant and shipowner J.R.Corning and his wife Margaret Ann. Proceeding down the hall again to the Maid's stairwell you reach the nursery and the maid's quarters, which are conveniently quite separate from the rest of the second level.
