The Renassance Pleasure Faire

Tis a great day for a walk at the faire!

Today was a grand day for Jeraldine and I to go to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, now located in Vacaville California. About a forty-five minute drive west of Sacramento on the Interstate 80 freeway in the Old Nut Tree parking lot...

The faire was as beautiful as I remembered it, I was a little disappointed in their new location, but after walking around for awhile I began to disregard the fact that the faire is now located more within the Vacaville city limits and not so much in the country like it had always been in the past...

Fortunately, the weather was beautiful for the last weekend of the faire. This last week has been quite cold and rainy; it was only pure luck that the weekend was as nice as it was ...

This picture above was the local wishing well and three of the faire characters were putting on a play about a dragon that might live inside of the well, it might have been living within the well or perhaps at the ends of the Earth and since the Earth is flat one would fall straight off it and get eaten by these dragons!!! The other picture is more of the beautiful faire grounds...

These two pictures were of the May Pole! The kids were having a great time spinning up and down on the May Pole Ride!

Here is Jeraldine portraying Queen Elizabeth in this picture on the left however in this picture on the right Jeraldine, I felt, was really portraying her part wearing this devil mask!

In this picture on the left are the three pied pipers! Their music was very relaxing... This picture on the right was a grand event, the Queen's jousting !

This picture on the left is a Scottish Nobleman, on horse back, explaining the rules for the upcoming joust! He explained that the hero we were to route for was the evil Chris! This picture on the right; let the games begin!!!

Here the jousting is getting more exciting and our hero 'Chris' was truly evil and, of course, we all hip, hip hora'd him!

These horses were absolutely beautiful and the show was great!

These two pictures were a couple of our evil heroes, however neither the evil nor the good guys won the event! No, the prize went to the Scottish Noblemen's horse, by virtue of the Queen !!!

In this picture on the left; Jeraldine is pictured with our hero, the evil, wicked black knight... The picture on the right is the faire's local harp player, the rhythm was absolutely beautiful!
