Do you still remember your first "love"?
My love affair with the show began with Digimon Adventure. A story of eight kids and their fuzzy(or scaly) partners that could grow to kick some evil monster butt. Partners which they met after, on one snowy August morning in their summer camp, a portal opened in the sky and sucked them into an alternate realm known as the "Digital World". Turns out they were sent to help their partners (Digimon, short for Digital Monsters) evolve and fight to save the Digital World. And they end up saving their own world in the process.
The last season was Digimon Frontier, which remains to this day my favourite of the four seasons. It's the least favourite of many peoples', though, mostly because of the pacing of the series and the fact that Digimon Frontier had no Digimon partners involved. In Frontier, the six kids fought themselves, by using the Spirits of six of the Ten Legendary Warriors to evolve. Each spirit was of a different element. The remaining four Spirits were corrupted by the Children's first opponent, Cherubimon, and they had to be destroyed.
To this day, I still love this series. Though Digimon came to an end in 2003, Frontier remains my favourite show of all time. And Kouichi is my favourite fictional character, even though his character never really got developed. Which is sad.
This page is a work in progress. ^^ Eventually I'll make it look prettier. Add pictures and stuff. Until then...
I remember mine. I was... about six or seven years old, I guess. Every afternoon, without fail, I'd go over to my best friend Nikki's house and we'd watch Sailor Moon together. My favourite Sailor Scout was Sailor Moon. Nikki's was Sailor Venus.
A few years later, I got introduced to Pokemon, which I fell in love with in an instant. At first, since it was a "boy's show", I hid my new love from my parents. That was pretty easy to do since they had recently begun to allow me to stay home alone, and it came on before they got home from work.
About a year after that, I guess, YTV stopped showing Pokemon for a little while. I really don't remember why. But in its place, they aired this show called Digimon. I flat-out refused to watch it for at least a few days. When my parents asked why, I'd yell "Because it's a stupid ripoff of Pokemon!!"
About a day or two later, I relented, and thus met my first "true" love. I watched Digimon religiously, eventually discovering that it aired first on Fox on Saturday mornings. I bawled my eyes out upon watching the last episode of Season 1, believing that it was the end of Digimon. That's when I discovered the internet.
Digimon Adventure 02 came next, continuing the story three years later when most of the original Chosen Children are in junior high, except for the two youngest, who are now the same age the older kids were at the time of the first adventure. Those two team up with three (later four) new kids, and, with the help of the older kids and all their Digimon, save the worlds again. This time, though, they could freely travel between the two worlds via a portal in a computer (usually one in their school's computer room).
Digimon Tamers was after that, taking place in a world where Digimon was known as a card game. I really don't have too much information on hand about it, since Tamers was my least favourite season and I never watched too many episodes. It can be noted, however, that Tamers was the first season in which I watched an episode in Japanese. Didn't understand a lick of it, but I watched it.
At the beginning of the series, there were five kids. The sixth, Kouichi Kimura, was sent to the Digital World as a spirit after falling down a flight of stairs (smooth...) when he was trying to follow his twin brother, Kouji (who, at the time, didn't know Kouichi existed). See, Kouji and Kouichi's parents split up when they were very young. All his life, Kouji was told by his father that his mother had died when he was a baby. He wasn't even aware that he was a twin. Kouichi was also unaware of Kouji, until his grandmother told him of his younger twin on her deathbed. At that point, Kouichi found his twin and began stalking him, afraid to reveal himself. He saw that Kouji had a good life though, living in a big house with their father and his stepmother. This pissed Kouichi off, because his mother constantly worked herself sick just to support Kouichi and herself. Cherubimon brought those thoughts to the surface of Kouichi's mind, and twisted them until he, too, was corrupted. Cherubimon gave Kouichi the Spirits of Darkness and it wasn't until about episode 33 that Kouichi was purified, met Kouji, and joined the rest of the Chosen for the final battle to save both worlds (notice the running theme?)
And you can give me all the evidence you want that KouKou is practically canon. I-don't-care. I still hate, hate, hate, hate, hate it.
Stuff
Yes, I am still married to Kouichi, and yes, I plan on being for a while. Support KouKou in front of me and DIE. XD
