Dennis Nielsen

England’s most feared serialkiller was nothing but a shy man, who was working at a public office. He was very lonely and didn't have any friends or relatives to spend New Years with, so instead he went down to a local pub, where he met a young Irish man. They started talking, and after the man got terrible drunk, Dennis decided to take the man home to his place. They were way to drunk to have sex, but the next morning the man from the pub was sleeping next to Dennis in his bed. Dennis hated being lonely, and he feared that the man would leave him as soon as he woke up, so he started strangling him with his own tie. He woke up at once, and started to fight for his life, but after a couple of minutes he was dead. To make sure he was dead, Dennis held the man’s head in a bucket of water for a couple of minutes. When it was all over, he gave his victim a bath, and dressed him in his clothes. After that Dennis toke the corpse with him to bed, and held the dead body close to him, and fell asleep. The next day he masturbated while watching the body. The only thing Dennis could do was to wait to be arrested, and he was surprised that he hadn't seen the police anywhere. It was like nobody really missed the person he had killed, and Dennis promised himself never to kill again. Dennis got rid of the body, by burring it under the floor in his house. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A year past by, before Dennis killed again. Kenneth Ockendon came from Canada, but was in London to visit his family. The 3rd of December, he met Dennis at a pub, and the two started talking, and decided to go to Dennis' place and grab a bite to eat. They had a good time, but Dennis started to get desperate, because he knew Kenneth would leave him, so he had to kill him. He strangled him with a wire. Then he gave him a bath, just like at the first victim and then he slept with him in his arms. The next day he took pictures of the body. In a period of time, he let the body sit in his chair, next to him when he was watching TV, but after four weeks, he buried it under the floor, next to the other victim. This time there was a lot of publicity about the disappeared tourist from Canada, and ones again, Dennis was sure the police would come anytime, but nothing happened. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After his second killing, Dennis wasn't so afraid of getting caught anymore, and in about two years, he killed about 10 men in his apartment, and yet no one suspected him for nothing. He typically strangled or drowned his victims, who all were gay men. Dennis had met them all at different pubs. When Dennis was caught he claimed to have killed, 15-16 men, but he wasn't sure of the correct amount. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dennis was born and raised in Scotland. He rarely saw his dad, and along with his mother and his siblings he lived with his grandparents. They were very religious, and there were a lot of rules to follow in the house. It was in his childhood, Dennis started to be very shy, and no one could really get in touch with him, besides his grandfather. Dennis loved his grandfather, and he loved listening to all his stories, and it was a chock for Dennis when the old man died of a heart attack. In puberty he discovered that he was attracted to his own sex. It made him fell different, so he quit school and joined the army, were he got a kitchen job, where he was trained to be a butcher, which came very handy for him, when he many years later started to kill. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In 1964 he experienced a very traumatic and violent episode. One night he was very drunk, and he fell asleep in the Taxi that was supposed to take him home. When he woke up, he was in the trunk. When the driver came to take him out, Dennis hit him in the head with a peace of tool, and ran away. He never found out that he had killed the driver. After being in the military he started as a police officer. He didn't really like the job, but he got to see a lot of dead bodies, and found out, that it fascinated him, and after this he started imagining him self being dead, and he would play dead in front of his own mirror, and put makeup on, witch made him look like a stiff. After he ended his job as a police officer, he got a job in an office, and he was made a leader at his firm. In 1975 he started a relationship with a man called David Gallichan, and they started living together, but when David moved out, Dennis started felling even lonelier, and started drinking. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After Dennis started killing, his apartment got filled with bodies, but it didn't seem to be a problem for him, until there wasn't anymore space left. He had bodies everywhere, under the floor, in the closets and under his bed, so he decided to burn them, and his first victim was burned at a stake in his backyard, 8 month after he was killed. Some of the bodies he chopped up, and packed them away in boxes. Dennis got rid of all the corpses, before he moved to a new apartment. Dennis was sure, that the new place could be a way for him to start a new life, 'cause there was no place to hide the stiffs, and nowhere to burn them. The new apartment was in Cranley Garden, but the killings didn't stop, and his first victim in the new place was a 13years old boy who lived on the street. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ What in the end got Dennis arrested was his ever returning problem of getting rid of the bodies, and it was the plumber Michael Cattran who discovered the parts of human flesh blocking the pipes in the building. The Scotland Yard detective, Peter Jay, was called, and it didn't take him long to find the rest of the corpses spread around in Nilsens new apartment. Dennis was brought to the police station and he admitted everything. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1983 the trial started, and three men, who had survived their meeting with Dennis, came to the stand as witnesses. The 4th of November, Dennis Nilsen was plaited guilty in 6 murder cases, and two attempted. He can be released on parole in 2008. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
