DAVID EARLY

Fellow Pittsburgher David Early is a veteran when it comes to horror movies. If you aren't familiar with David then you need to get familiar! He has been in a ton of horror movies filmed in the area: The Dark Half, Innocent Blood, Silence of the Lambs, Monkey Shines, Tales From the Darkside, Creepshow, and one of my personal favorites; Dawn of the Dead. I've met Mr. Early in person at a horror convention and he's very friendly and personable. So if you ever have the chance to meet him don't pass it up! Below is a fun little interview I recently had the pleasure of doing with him!

#8 What has been your favorite horror convention that you've been a guest at?

All of them, I love meeting the fans.

#9 Who was your favorite director to work with?

George Romero and Johnathan Demme.

#10 What made you get into acting?

My mother told me that when I was 6 she asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I said that I wanted to be a actor and work in movies. I don't remember this but I guess I was predestined? My degree is elementary education, When I was in school my girlfriend was going to CMU studying acting. One night she asked to go to an audition with her and I did . We got their late and they had no one to read with her so they asked me to. We started reading and they had us read several scenes and then I noticed that they were asking me to read more than she and then they asked her to sit down and for me to do a monolog. When I finished the director asked me to do the lead roll. That was my start in acting.

#11 What do you feel makes a good horror movie?

Suspense.

#12 What horror movie character was your favorite to play & why?

Mr. White in Creepshow. It was great working with E.G. Marshall and just being on set with all those roaches.

#13 Any current projects?

I have a few things coming up but I don't know the titles yet.

I have had a long wonderful career and I am really grateful for it!
