(515):
(515), is the spooky song intro. The name was chosen because
this is the area code for iowa.
"515 is the area code of the capitol of Iowa, and repeated over and over in this 1:00 minute song is the word "death". this song is basically about the psychotic rage that is hidden within all of our minds, and after being pushed to a certain limit...we will eventually snap and let it all loose." - Kurt Dyrwal, official from Corey.
People = Shit:
This song is about the worlds plague which is people.
Disasterpiece:
"Basically, this song is pointed at people who are bullies
or judgemental to other people they don't understand them.
It's about what the people who are picked on or judged by
others feelings and what they want to do. The chorus is
about people just talking and being irritating and who they
talk to have nothing to do about it. When Corey says "I'm
not supposed to be here, I'm not supposed to be!!", what he
is really saying is he is somewhere he doesnt belong or want
to be. He's also sayin that he's just empty inside and has
no point in life and can't stand it. So, to me, the song is
talking to people both Corey and "reject" are judged by that
they are really pissed off and about to snap on them so shut
the fuck up before i kill you. Also that those who are
judging them are not being their real selves, just what
others want them to be.(I got that idea from "My wormwood
meets your pesticide You'll never get out, coz you were
never alive") Thats what Disaster Piece mens to me, if it
don't to any of you who read it, I don't give a fuck. "

In the part where Corey is saying "(HATE) Hate ain't enough
to describe me" is a subliminal message,if you play the part
backwards you can hear him say "What is this going around".
There's also another sample in this song that not many people know about. It's very hard to hear. It's exactly in the '56' second part of the song, you gotta listen through the left speaker to hear it properly. It's a guy falling from a tall building on a top of a car and the alarm goes off. - Thanx to "bloodpigpeto" for that!
My Plague:
"I think this song is about the opinions that other people
have for you, especially when they don't know you. He
doesn't mind when people make fun of him, because they
really don't understand him in the first place. At the end
of the song, he's pretty much saying "Fuck you! I'm gonna be
who I am, and if you don't like it, kiss my ass" - Teddy
Turner (maggot)
Everything Ends:
"Is about the last time I tried to commit suicide, and more
to the point, the first day I figured out what life was all
about. It's about the last day in a life I don't want to
remember and about the first day in a life that I am living
right now."
Why did you want to kill yourself? "Why does any 17-year-old guy want to kill themselves? A chick of course! I thought she was the be and end all of everything and when you are that age, those emotions won't let you fucking consider reality. I was in a really, really painful place. I put 31 slashes on my arm and I took a bottle of pills and a friend found me and took me to hospital. Luckily the cuts weren't too deep but I still have the scars. They pumped my stomach, which was a completely fucking horrific experience, one that I don't wish on anyone. They make you drink this stuff which tastes like maple syrup, which is why I can't eat pancakes for the rest of my life, that induces you to vomit uncontrollably. You then spew up everything you have eaten for the past week and then they give you this shit which tastes like liquid charcoal to calm your stomach down again." - Corey
The Heretic Anthem:
i think it means pop sux ass and if u r a maggot u r doing
the right thing by not listening to that pop bull shit
-sllpknotlc1001[maggot]
The breaking you hear in the end of the song,is actually Shawn throwing a microphone through a small window.
Gently:
Gently is a song that first appeared with Anders on
Slipknot's debut outing, MFKR. This was Anders'
interpretation of the song, using his lyrics, "Gently is
about stepping into the "Umbra" or "Spirit World". It's
accomplished with the help of any reflective surface. "
Left Behind:
Left Behind is Slipknot's latest single and was the second
song put up for download, for maggots to hear prior to the
release of IOWA, by Roadrunner.
"I think it is about a guy who has seen his friend change but he has'nt changed with him. His friend got into drugs and became addicted. The more he got into drugs the more he left his friend behind. He left the guy for the people that they use to be against. Finally he could not take it ne more and e seaks revenge." - Patrick Gordon (Maggot)
"I think its about this guy who used to have these friends, but unlike them, he doesnt grow up. So, they ignore him and he slips away from them. Then hes filled with loneliness.(Key lyrics: (I ignore you), I feel it all slipping away, we all got left behind, take this away." - Chris Behnken (Maggot)
The Shape:
"In The Shape, someone is experiencing a big problem. He is
really confused and does not want to come out and say it,
because hes not sure how to deal with it. He uses alot of
metaphors trying to get out his feelings, but its so hard
that he can only manage to "beat around the bush" for say."
- Andrew Johnson (Maggot) also thnx to DMD
I Am Hated:
"Well I think the whole point of this song is saying that
slipknot is the cure for the human race. They are the
"anti-cancer" of this planet. He is saying that all the ppl
that hate slipknot dont understand them so they reject them,
and think they are "two times the devil" meaning they think
they are worse than the devil. He is also pissed off about
all the complaining going on. Then he goes on to talk about
how he doesnt care what everyone thinks he can be who he is
and be happy, so fuck everyone that hates on him. We are not
sorry for what we do, because we started this shit in the
first place." - Allen D. Morris (Maggot)
Skin Ticket:
"In my opinion, the whole song is about Coreys life living
in Iowa. Zero and zero nothing but zero means Iowa= the
middle of nowhere. Running and running going on forever
means there is nowhere to go, and he can''t get out. When he
says starving for zero, I think he means that he is STRIVING
for nothing, and he wants something, and feeling, but there
is nowhere to get it. When he says come see my cage built in
my grain, I think he means the obvious... I am stuck here,
and I have nowhere to go. But when he says come see my cage
-built in migraine, I think he means See me, my cage, my
creation. It makes him ache and hurt. He can''t think. He
has lost his mental picture of himself. This place he needs
to escape. He needs life, and he needs to feel, but he
can''t. He can''t see the world through his eyes, because he
is stuck in his cage. His home. And when he says keeping
myself alive through your EMPATHY, I think he means that WE
are keeping him alive by our understanding of his lyrics,
and his life and feelings. I think this song and all the
others were meant to be figured out by us. He wants us to
understand him. He needs someone to understand him, because
no one ever did. He is counting on us. He needs us. If there
are people out there that understand what he is trying to
say, I believe he escaped his cage." In the part where Corey
is saying "Keeping myself alive!" is a subliminal
message, because if you play it backwards you can hear him
say "I love myself!"...pretty cool - Summer Carbone (Maggot)
New Abortion:
"That is for every fan we have who feels disorientated,
especially kids who come from towns like we did. It's
basically a new definition of abortion for the fact that
these kids are born with life but that is basically all they
have. They have no chance for a future and have no chance of
finding themselves. They have no inside influence that is
going to push them in the right direction. They fit and they
stagnate, which when I think about it, real abortion is
better than that fucking bullshit. These people are born
with a life but they still have to endure it. These are the
kids you see shooting up schools, losing their minds over
sitting in their rooms and not having anywhere to go, so
that is my testimony to these kids - that I know where they
are coming from."
There was an older version of this song called "May 17th",it was written by Shawn. It is not exactly like this one but it has some simular parts in it.You can download the song live from MFKR1.com
Metabolic:
"This song is basically 'Diluted' Part II that is about my
dad. It is about being so enraged yet being so impotent
because there is nothing you can do about it. "It is about
that time of the morning when you are sitting in bed and you
are crying uncontrollably, and you are trying not to feel
but all you can do is feel because every time you shut your
eyes it's there. It is probably one of the most personal
songs I have ever written just for the fact that even though
I never knew my father and even though I have never met him,
I feel like I am turning into him. I have no mental picture
of what he is supposed to be, but sometimes I wonder if I am
doing the things he used to do. It's definitely a pissed
off, heavy, fuck you, I don't give a shit because nobody
told me who I was because I had to figure it out for myself
song." - Corey
Iowa:
This 15 minute mammoth is a reworking of the original,
Killers are Quiet that can be found on MFKR. All lyrics for
IOWA can be found within the booklet apart from this one,
this song has its lyrics placed onto the surface of the
actual CD.
In the part of the song where Corey is saying
something,which you might think is bullshit,but it's
not. It's just played backwards. And if you play that part
backwards you can actually hear what he's saying.....Don't
look at me!....
