MarineDevimon is a very under-used but interesting digimon I think we should see more of, in the games as well. I mean, hes tall, all his own teeth, alot of sharp objects and an unordinate amount of tentacles coming out of his lower back--always a hit with the ladies. This aquatic beast man digimon hails from the depths of the ocean. Aquatic monsters such as MarineDevimon have been long been associated with the works of writer Howard Phillip Lovecraft, or as hes more commonly known, H.P. Lovecraft. As you can see, one of his few evolutionary summits is Demon, who carries with him the touches of H.P. Lovecraft's creations, primarily the "elder god sign" on the hood of Demon's cloak. For MarineDevimon himself he has little in the way of backstory or character devolopment past that hes a monster from the ocean. Note the characteristics of both Gesomon and Devimon in this one, clearly brings to mind the after-effects of crossing DNA from animals, and of course Jogress between digimon. In various games that he has appeared in, he always carries the ghastly appearence and particularly monstrous aura about him. This coming from someone who has trudged through titles like "Digimon World 2" and the infinitely better but untranslated, "D1 Tamers" for wonderswan. | |
