| Personal Notes Mephismon here exhibits classic fallen angel imagery with his black feather wings and goat-like features. In addition, he follows the persona of the Mephistopheles character from Faust, the german play in which the devil (presumably) disguises himself and negotiates with a man for his soul. Character-wise Mephismon is subtle yet destructive, with just a hint of eccentricity. He has above average space for character devolopment, but of course he plays the role of single minded villian in the first Tamers movie. A truely nice one. | Mephismon, a true fallen angel archetype. While being strong, he is not the strongest, such as his level of perfect/ultimate, so he must be wary of his enemies. Usually he resorts to underhanded tactics, but is not a cackling sadist. He sucker-punches Omegamon with his death cloud attack and tries to rub him out, in a display of voracity, but he was of course outmuscled. He is scantily featured in the media of digimon, although he is the villain of movie#5, or the first tamers movie. Here he attempts to destroy the world by corrupting the V-pet program and turning them into harmful viruses that will shut down all human technology. (comparable to the Y2K bug that was to cause something similer by the halt of all computers, sending the world into a sort of dark age.) This way he attempts to disrupt the net world so that destructive digimon can move freely into the human world and lay it to waste, thus making true his dream of the apocalypse. The way he transforms himself and acts as a benign character to the creator of V--pet (in human shape) in order to stop the vaccine program that was written into the creator's daughters pet program, Mei-chu. |
