This tat was done two years ago by Danise Wolfe at Lucky 7 studio in Libertyville, IL. I have to admit, this piece is one of my favorites thus far as it's my most public and I enjoy the reactions I've received on this one. I first saw a loose adaptation of this design in the mag International Tattoo Art about 7 years prior and fell in love with it, so I worked out the design with my artist.
I apologize for the crappy pic, but this is a tribal dragon on my right forearm, my first at 16. I had this done at a pro tat shop in Chicago that was well known at the time for not carding and at the time I was so determined to get ink I went there despite better judgment. If I knew then what I know now, I would have definitely waited until I was of legal age and have gone to a much more reputable artist, but I can say that I don't regret it, only if because of sentimental feelings as this was my first. I choose this location because I wanted something that would stand out immediatly..it was a turbulent period in my life, and at the time it seemed right.
My latest..done my Mike at Chicago Tattoo. I will eventually add to this a full sleeve when money permits. I'm considering for my choice an adaptation of a Miro painting that I've admired for some time. Will keep everyone updated.
This is a Voodoo veve of the deities Dumballa and Ezili. I chose this not because I'm a follower of Voodoo, but because I find the religion fascinating and it reminds me of New Orleans, a city that has great relevance to me. This piece was done by "Big Daddy" at Big Daddy Tattoo in Kansas City.
This was done by Mike at Chicago Tattoo as well...they translate as "Beauty Within Chaos"...wisdom that I hold dear to me and has become quite true many a time in my life.
