Kyosuke Date lost any resemblence to a normal life the day the woman he believed to be his mother stabbed him. The SoulTaker is the mutated form of Kyosuke Date. Kyosuke seems to be in control of the SoulTaker (I haven't seen the entire series yet, so I don't know everything), it is Kyosuke in another form. The SoulTaker is a black monster with a humanoid shape and bat wings that can fold into his back. His face seems to be covered by some type of clear face plate. His power is tremendous and he attacks his opponents mercilessly with his "Lightning Breaker" attack. He will do anything to protect the Flickers (Fragments of Runa) and discover the truth about himself. Kyosuke is a well developed character who changes from a confused child into a steadfast young adult in a small amount of time. He adapts quickly to new situations, which will prove useful in coming battles. He must also accept the SoulTaker as part of himself, was that what Mom really had planned?
