Mio Date is a nun, who is also the adoptive mother of Kyosuke. She is the one who stabs Kyosuke and awakens the SoulTaker. She is killed by and for reasons unkown in the first episode. Kyosuke found her mortally wounded in her church. As he left for help, she stabbed him and asked for his forgiveness. She died shortly afterwards. It is revealed later that she was a friend of Tsubaki Tokisaka and worked in the Tokisaka general hospital.
