Forgotten Father: Richard Vincent

Richard Vincent

Richard Vincent is the head of the Kirihara Medical program and oddly, he is also the Leader of the Hospital group, the very adversaries the Kirihara's wish to annihilate. Richard is the husband of Tsubaki Tokisaka, the biological mother of Kyosuke and Runa. He worked for the Tokisaka General Hospital and unwittingly participated in experimentation with the Beta Applicon Virus. The Beta Applicon caused the mutation and death of many patints. The mutants of Hospital are the survivors who seek to "cure" hemselves. While researching the virus, Richard was infected. He could no transform into the SoulCrusher, a monster similar to SoulTaker.

Unfortunately, he had been taken advantage of. His wife, Tsubaki was actually participating in her famly's master plan to create the perfect mutant(how and why have not been revealed). Tsubaki infecteed herself with the virus so she and Richard would produce "superior" children. Upon the birth of the twins, Tsubaki left Kyosuke with her friend, Mio Date and ran away ith Runa, leaving only a trail of flickers behind them. Feeling betrayed and used, Richard swore revenge on the Tokisaka family for causing the death of so many innocents and the destruction of countless lives. He formed the Hospital group and seeks Runa, the perfect mutant cread by the merging of two Beta Applicon created mutants. Kyosuke fights him in episode seven, in outer space. Richard reveals who he is and almost kills Kyosuke.

Richard is an alchoholic and is merciless to his enemies. why not? He has seen countless friends die before his eyes and even more killed by SoulTaker. He's got a right to be angry. However, he has a gentle nature, as seen in episode seven hen he cares for a young girl at Kirihara hospital. he is a victim of cruel betrayal, but he feels obligated to prevent it from happening to anyone else. His intentons are noble but his methods are questionable. Sadly, the Beta Applicon that infected his body is slowly killing him.
