I am currently attending IUPUI to major in Health Information Administration with minors in Informatics and Philosophy. My cognate area was New Media, which I am also very much interested in. I will continue to study New Media on the side, but not as a focus. After completing my B.S. in Health Information Administration, I plan to get my Masters in Health Informatics *someday*. I am currently a junior in HIA.
Health information administrators collect, interpret, and protect health data and determine how data are used. They are managers and information specialists who frequently interact with other members of the medical, financial, and administrative staffs. It is their responsibility to ensure that the information system is protected and driven by accurate, up-to-the-minute information.
