Rose bed one runs along the driveway, on the east side of the garden, and is bordered with irises.
The roses in this bed are: New Dawn, growing up the pine tree, Mme. Isaac Perierre, growing up the arch, Therese Bugnet, First Light, Belle Isis, "Mystery Red China", Belle de Crecy, and Mme. Joseph Schwartz. The roses are interplanted with peonies, daylilies, hardy ageratum, and hardy geraniums. The perennials are under planted with 'Thalia' Narcissus.
