Rose Bed Three is along the south side of the garden, bordering the South Lawn. It is edged in lavender. Provence lavender does well in my area, and I have learned not to water it.
The roses in this bed are: Barbara Worl, Rose de Rescht, Mme. Hardy, a mislabelled rose I call "mystery fat pink", Emporer du Moroc, Penelope, Captain John Ingram, and Cardinal de Richelieu. The roses are accompanied by: 'Thomas Edison' Dahlias, sedum, veronica alba, peonies, daylilies, asters, catmint (to lure the cats to chase away the voles--which is not working BTW), lamb's ear, oregano, thyme, echinacea and rudebeckia (still blooming in December), chives, and sage.
This bed is underplanted with: snowdrops, siberian iris, scilla, 'Lilac Perfection'Tulips, 'Pink Parasol' Narcissus, 'Apricot Beauty' Tulip, and sword lilies.
