Ares was the God of War--Violence personified, hard and cold. That was how others saw him, and how he had come to see himself. He believed there was no room in his life for the warmer, 'softer' emotions--like love, or, Tartarus forbid, need.

Then Joxer, his most loyal worshipper, was willing to sacrifice himself to save Ares. Ares told himself that it was only right that he return the favor, and help the mortal heal. He told himself that once Joxer was well, that would be the end of it.

*snort*

It's never that simple, especially not when love enters the equation.

This series was received beautifully by the readers, and I garnered two Joxerotica Awards in 2004.
