bordering on a prose poem

All the clocks in her apartment are set to different times.

It was 10:27 in the bedroom, but nearly eleven in the hall.

You gain 10 minutes crossing the room.

She gets up in the morning and loses 7 minutes as she gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom.

Her 22 minute shower lasts anywhere from 3 to 47 minutes depending upon where you are in the apartment.

We talk for a while with no drastic time leaps, as we have not left the time zone of her bed.

16 minutes pass as I walk briskly from her bedroom into the kitchen. But when I return to her with the glass of water I have slipped back in time.

She’s quirky that way, she has a lot of quirks.

And I love them all.
