Chapter 1: How Do You Fall In Love?
Roger stared in distaste at his eggs. He had taken so long arguing with Dorothy his eggs had gotten cold. "I told you." Roger looked up from his cold eggs to Dorothy, sitting on the opposite end of the table. Roger gave her a dirty look. "It was worth it just to get you to stop playing that piano," he said emphasizing the words that and piano. "I might just get rid of it," he continued. Dorothy stared at him. Roger got the feeling she didn’t believe him.
A few minutes pasted before any words were said. Finally, Dorothy spoke up. "Roger," she began," Can I ask you a question?" Uh-oh, this isn’t good, Roger thought. " Sure, go ahead Dorothy," he said, bracing himself for the worst. Dorothy’s eyes focused on him. "How do you… fall in love?"
Dorothy’s POV
Roger looks shocked. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask him that question. He’ll find some way to slide past without answering me. I wish I could just get one straight answer from him. But I wonder, has he ever been in love before?
Roger’s POV
Great! A hard one. What can I say? I have to say something. Wait a sec, I got it. I’ve never been in love before that’s what I’ll tell her. That’s right. But, then she’ll just ask me why I was never in love before. Why is it such a problem to talk to her? I am the Negotiator. I’ve talked my way out of lots of tight situations, and yet, it’s harder for me to talk to her then even my worst enemies! Is it possible that I .. care what she thinks? Maybe even care for her?
End POV’s
"Roger, are you going to answer my question or not?" Dorothy asked. "Huh? What?" Roger shook his head, clearing it of any thoughts. "I asked if you were going to answer my question or not," Dorothy reminded him. "Oh, yes, well," Roger cleared his throat, "I’ve never been in love before Dorothy."
"Why have you never been in love before Roger?"
