Disclaimer: Nope, don't own 'em. Wish I did, but I don't. I know, so sad... But, don't sue me, I'm broke as hell.
He walked slowly, head hung low. When it stopped being sunny and when it began to rain, he never noticed. He only acknowlaged the thoughts in his head. When had he screwed up so badly? One fight, small yet significant, tore them apart. It was all his fault. The rain poured down upon his prevoiusly soaked skin. He looked up at the darkened sky, finding a strange comfort in the silent rain falling down upon him. It always managed to make him think of reasons. Excuses. That was all they were, he told himself. Excuses to find the weakness somewhere else beside the obvious site. The obvious site being himself. Weakness was not in his vocabulary for himself.
But, oh, how weak he really was. Weak for finding the fault in others and not in himself. He huffed. The rain beat harder on his back, now. It grew colder and the icy feeling inside of him grew as well. How could he have been so stupid? The wind began to nip at him, chilling his body. He shivered, growing colder. His heart was shielding itself again. Finding the fault in everything but him. Protection. It shielded itself for a protection from the realities of life.
Everything was screwed up. His perfect world came crumbling down around him. At his feet lay the rubble of the perfection he left. That one little fight. That damned woman. She did all of this, it was all HER fault. No. No, it was all HIS fault. He was the weak on in the relationship. He paniced when her news set in. When it did, he ran. Ran from the reprocussions of his one night of passion with that woman. One night of unguarded release in a world of immense beauty. And for that he would pay. He did love her, but that was not the point. It was not supposed to happen this way. It was supposed to be honorable. But this. This was far from honorable. It was a child out of wedlock. Dishonor. Dishonor being what he could not handle being part of. So he left. He left the only woman he ever loved for honor. A worthy cause, but love being the worthier of the two.
The rain had stopped pouring, now drizzling slightly. It was still enough for him to feel. To feel, hmph, that was new. Thought he forgot that one for a few moments. Guess not. Oh well. His life sucked right now, so who cared? He didn't, but SHE did. Her. He could still feel her lips on his and her fingers in his black hair. Oh god how he missed her. He was so stupid.
He wandered aimlessly, letting his heart guide him. When he looked up, he stood before her apartment complex. He smiled. Fate. He looked up to the sky, seeing th darkened realm beconing him to return to her. He nodded and ascended the stairs to the woman he loved. The woman carying his child. The woman he so affectionately called... Sally.
