Chad is a drop-out wannabe rock star who appears one night asleep on the steps of Raye's Grandfather's temple. When he first lays eyes on Raye he literally falls for her. Chad is like yamcha in many respects. He finds it hard to express his feelings, but he final manages it. Unlike Raye with Darien we dont get the chance to see him pluck up his courage, which may have been funny. But he would definately have had to to ask her to go for a burger with him. Raye does like Chad, especially when we hear her thoughts. We can only imagine Chad's reaction to her involvement with Darien. It must have torn the guy apart. So okay he's not the bravest, smartest, most gorgeous characters in the show, but he does have a charm which comes from his vulnerablity and voice. He doesn't mind being a bit of a goof at times and sometimes ends up in the same sort of cute but embarrassing predicaments as Yamcha ::sigh:: Perhapif the writers had given him more of a chance he would be better liked and we would perhaps get to see a more sensitive and caring side. This guy looks as if he's gonna ahve to carry on through life lonely but devoted as with Yammy
Raye/Rei
Sailor Mars is a hot tempered, seductively beautiful young woman, who works at her Grandfather's temple. Raye is firey and stubborn but is kind hearted and genlte when it coems to matters of her heart. She dreams of boys just as much as the other Sailor scouts, but her relationship with Chad is a controversal one. When Chad turns up, she shows no attraction to him, but does hint later that she thinks he's cute along with the other scouts. Serena sees the obvious attention she is getting from Chad and does her best to bring them together, (by any means possible) unfortunately Raye doesn't go for Serena's *kind* arranged offers. Perhaps because she doesn't like Chad in that way, or perhaps because she is hiding feelings for him which she isn't sure how to express. Maybe she prefers to keep her pride than admit that she was wrong about him. When she dates Darien she doesn't seem too upset when she finds out about Tuxedo mask and his destiny with Sailor Moon, almost as if she knew herself that it wasn't right. There are so many problems with this relationship, pride, timidness, modesty, frustration and secrecy. ::sigh again:: The path of love is not always straight forward and quite often doesn't happen because of people's attitudes, this happens to be one of those cases
