Sorry came too late
I tried but couldn't stay
These words they will not say
The things I want to tell you
He watched her as she stood, paced around the room, and sat back down, drumming her fingers on the table. "Heero," she finally began.
"Yes?" he asked, as she stood again, and this time walked to the window.
"Never mind."
"If you have something to say, you really should say it."
"Forget it," she said again. "Just forget it."
"Relena? Is something bothering you?"
"You're observant," she remarked sarcastically. He didn't really seem mad at her, just concerned, despite the red mark he bore on his face.
This heart it will not reveal
These things that I feel
And the emptiness inside me now
Sorry came too late
I just couldn't hold back anymore
And I just wanted to say
She had slapped him, for no real reason. He'd just said something to her, and BOOM! Her hand had exploded across his face. She'd turned and ran, leaving him standing there, one hand over his cheek. And now she couldn't even apologize for it.
That I'm sorry and I didn't want it to end this way
Just because this heart it will not say
That I'm sorry deep inside
When I look into your eyes
My emotions take control
But they won't let me say
The two words that I want to most
"Relena, if-"
"Just forget it, Heero." She wanted to cry.
He took the hint. "All right."
She heard him leave the room.
Now I know that I'm sorry came too late
And I won't be able to tell you now
And it makes me want to cry
Just curl up and die
Because I'll have to live without you now
Alone without you now
All because I couldn't say what was true
It had been seven years since that conversation. She still remembered it plain as day. She had never seen him again.
Never got to say she was sorry.
Live my life without you
Because I never said I was sorry to you
Because I was just a fool
Just a fool who would die
Without you...
HEERO YUY
3015-3047
Remembered Forever
Relena Dorlian Peacecraft placed a single rose on Heero's grave and whispered, "I'm sorry."
