Ash and company were lost, as usual, in the forest. And again as usual, Ash and Misty were arguing about who had gotten them lost. Sigh... Will they never learn?
"Ash, if I got a dollar for every time you got us lost, I'd be a millionaire!" Misty yelled.
Ash seethed. "No you wouldn't!"
"Yes, I would!"
Brock stepped between them before the fight could escalate any further. "Cut it out, you guys." He waved his hands around in an attempt to calm them down. "We're lost, but look at it this way. Ash won't get to lose another battle."
"I don't lose!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu followed Ash's example and put its little hands on its hips. Both pokemon and future pokemon master glared at Brock.
Misty gave Ash one of her looks. He wilted beneath it.
"Well, maybe I do sometimes..." Ash conceded.
Misty smiled. "That's better." She tapped Ash on the nose. "It's not good for your ego for you to think you can win every time."
Ash blushed. "Yeah, whatever you say, Misty."
Brock groaned. "Ash, you give in too easily."
Misty pulled out her mallet and smacked Brock over the head with it. "Shut up, Brock."
Brock sprawled out on the ground with a crooked smile on his face. "Whatever you say, Misty."
"Ha, what were you saying, Brock?" Ash smirked down at his friend.
"Nothing, Ash, nothing," Brock said through teeth clenched in pain.
The fivesome (if you include Pikachu and Togepi) continued going through the forest after Brock had recovered from his beating. Suddenly, another fivesome jumped from out of the bushes at them, and no, it wasn't Team Rocket and their pokemon.
"Boo!" Who else would it be but Duo Maxwell?
"Aaahh!" Ash jumped back, knocking Brock and Misty to the ground.
Misty pushed Ash off of her and leaped to her feet. She glared at him. "Ash Ketchum, just what... are you...?" Misty turned around to see five guys with movie-star good looks studying her impassively. She pulled Ash to his feet. "Um, Ash, who are these guys?"
Ash pushed Misty's hand off his arm. "How should I know?"
"Ask them!"
He walked up to the guy in the middle of the group. "Who are you?"
The guy looked at him with cold blue eyes. "My name is Heero Yuy."
"Ash Ketchum. Nice to meet you." Ash put his hand out.
Heero ignored Ash's hand and his gaze moved to the yellow animal by Ash's feet. "What is that thing?"
Ash put his hand back in his pocket and wondered what planet these guys were from. "It's a pikachu."
Heero, who was Japanese, looked mildly surprised. "An electric mouse?"
Duo grinned widely. "Say, it's pretty cute!"
"Pika!" Pikachu gave Duo an appreciative smile and leaped up onto his shoulder.
"Ha! I think it likes me!"
"Ash, hey Ash!" A whisper from behind him made Ash turn around.
Misty stood behind him, a flush in her cheeks. "Aren't you going to introduce us?"
Ash rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah. These are my friends, Brock and Misty. Misty's holding Togepi."
Wufei stepped forward, his eyes on the pokemon in Misty's arms. "Is that an ...an egg?"
Misty tickled Togepi and it squealed happily. "Actually, we don't know what it is really. It's a rare pokemon."
Duo nudged Heero.
"What?"
"Heero, it's our turn."
"They already know my name."
"But what about the rest of us?" Duo felt a tug on his braid as Pikachu climbed on top of his head.
"Pika!" Pikachu made a cute face at Heero.
Heero stared at it, his face emotionless. Then, he looked at Duo.
"What do you think I am? Your mother? Introduce yourself." Heero walked over to a tree and leaned against it, his head bowed.
"Hmph. Don't mind him. He's always like that." Duo stepped forward. "I'm Duo Maxwell. Pleased to meet ya." He shook Ash's hand heartily.
Trowa stepped forward. "I'm Trowa Barton."
"Quatre Raberba Winner." He flashed a bright smile at Misty. She flushed an even deeper red.
"Wufei Chang." Wufei crossed his arms over his chest and frowned at Misty. She jumped behind Ash.
After the introductions, Ash asked, "So what are you guys doing out here in the forest?"
Heero spoke up again. He could not resist a verbal jab at Duo. "We're looking for our gundams. Duo camouflaged them and now he can't remember where they are."
Ash scratched his head, a confused look on his face. "Uh, what's a gundam? Is that a type of pokemon?"
Duo laughed. "No. A gundam is a weapon of war. A giant robot. A mech."
Giant robot, Ash could understand, but not the rest of what Duo had just said.
"Oh."
"Once you see one, you never forget what it looks like."
"Those who lay eyes on a gundam shall not live," Trowa broke in, his quiet voice sounding very similar to Heero's.
Duo glanced at Trowa. "Relax, Trowa! They couldn't help us find them anyway."
Misty set down Togepi and it instantly toddled over to Wufei's leg. It made cute little noises while Wufei looked down at in disgust.
"Togepriii!"
"A semi-talking egg..." Wufei shook his head.
Misty saw something in the woods that reminded her suspiciously of...
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth that's right!"
...Team Rocket.
Ash and company groaned while the gundam pilots gave each other incredulous looks.
A bullet chopped the rose off the stem James was holding. Heero stood behind Team Rocket, his gun now aimed at James' head.
"Who are you?"
Team Rocket whirled around to face the trigger-happy gundam pilot.
Jessie's eyes gleamed. "Well, if you'd really like to know..."
James followed suit. "...we'll tell you."
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it... umph!"
Ash darted forward and slapped his hand over James' mouth. He had a crazed look on his face. "No, not again! I can only stand to hear that motto once an episode!"
"Well, twerp, this isn't an episode. This is a crossover!" Jessie opened her mouth to continue the motto.
"Say it again and you die." Heero walked in front of Ash and aimed his gun right between Jessie's eyes.
Jessie shut her mouth.
Misty watched the scene with interest. "Say, Ash, maybe you ought to try that. Looks like it works."
"I don't know, Misty. I like using our pokemon better."
"You would."
James jumped in front of Jessie. "Put that gun down!"
Heero lowered his gun, but only slightly. "Who are you with? OZ?"
"What's he talking about?" Ash whispered to Misty.
"I don't know. Sounded like he said something about Oz."
"You mean, like the Wizard of Oz?"
"Could be."
"Well, they sure don't look like Munchkins to me."
Misty shivered. "Those Munchkins were scary."
"Not as bad as those flying monkeys."
Misty shrugged. "I guess."
Jessie looked offended. "OZ? We're Team Rocket!"
Quatre sidled up next to Misty. "Team Rocket?"
Misty grimaced. "They're the bad guys."
"I see." Quatre smiled. "Do you need some protecting from these bad guys?"
Ash peeked around Misty at Quatre. He frowned. "We can take care of ourselves."
Quatre stepped back next to Duo. His smile only widened. "Sure."
Ash glared at Jessie and James. "You can't have Pikachu!"
"Pikachu?" Pikachu hopped up and down on top of Duo's head.
"Ouch!" Duo patted his head and realized that Pikachu was still sitting there. He picked Pikachu up and handed him back to Ash. "I can see why you wear a hat."
Pikachu climbed on top of Ash's head. His cheeks flared a bit as he glared at Meowth. "Pika..."
Jessie tossed her head. "Don't be silly. We're not here to steal your pikachu. We're here for them." Jessie pointed to the Gundam pilots.
"What?" Heero lowered his gun completely.
James scratched the back of his head nervously. "Well, we found these five camouflaged giant robots scattered around back there." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "We're trying to find the pilots." He grinned lopsidedly. "I think that's you guys."
Heero leaped forward and grabbed James' collar. "Where are our gundams? Take us to them."
Jessie's blue eyes narrowed. "First, you have to agree to work for Team Rocket. We could use your giant robots."
"Yeah, and den the boss would give us a raise." Meowth finally spoke up.
"We work for nobody," Wufei said.
"If you want to know where your robots are, you'd better agree to our terms." James got up enough courage to say even though he was staring down into Heero's enraged blue eyes.
Heero let James down and shoved him back. "Guys, I think we outnumber them. Let's get them."
Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, and Togepi watched in amazement as the Gundam pilots jumped on top of the three Team Rocket members. In thirty seconds, Jessie, James, and Meowth were restrained and had guns drawn on them.
"Please don't shoot us! We'll tell you..."
"Shut up, James!" Jessie interrupted him by clamping a hand over his mouth.
"Ma'am, you don't have a choice." Duo's voice was threatening. "Either you tell us where our gundams are or we go for a walk. Either way, you lose."
"Jessie, I don't like the sound of this."
Jessie bowed her head. "Okay, you win. But we won't tell you anything unless you get us that pikachu."
The five gundam pilots looked at each other. Heero nodded, and Wufei grabbed Pikachu off Ash's head, and before the electric mouse could fire off a thunderbolt, Pikachu was lying in Jessie's arms.
"Oh no!" James scooted back.
Jessie prepared herself for a shock (literally!) "You weren't supposed to do it like that." She groaned.
"That was pretty brave of ya!" Meowth observed, nodding to Wufei.
Then, Pikachu fired off his thundershock attack and Team Rocket blasted off into the sky where they disappeared in a twinkle of light.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again...!" Their voices faded into the distance.
"Wow!" Quatre said, eyeing Pikachu. "That pikachu packs quite a punch!" (ooh, he used alliteration!)
Ash smiled and scratched Pikachu under the chin. "Good job, Pikachu! You sure showed them!"
"Pika!" Pikachu stood in his classic imitation of Ash's victory pose.
"But we never found out where our gundams are," Trowa said.
Duo snapped his fingers. "Now I remember! They're hidden by a fallen tree that way!" He pointed in the direction Team Rocket had appeared from. "We'll have no trouble finding them now!"
Heero looked like he was going to shoot Duo right then and there, but he calmed himself. "Then, let's go."
The five Gundam pilots turned away from Ash and company and began to walk away.
Ash and Misty glanced at each other. Then, they waved madly at the retreating boys. "Bye!"
Brock had gotten bored and fallen asleep underneath a nearby tree. After all, there weren't any beautiful girls for him to gawk at.
Duo turned and waved back. "Bye, Pikachu!"
Pikachu looked ready to cry, but he waved his little paw in the air. "Pikachu!"
Quatre winked at Misty. "Take care of yourself."
Misty flushed again. "I will."
Ash turned a jealous shade of green.
Wufei suddenly realized that Togepi was still clinging to his leg. He picked it up and walked back to Misty. He handed it to her.
"Um, here's your egg."
"Thanks," Misty replied, giving him a smile as she took Togepi in her arms.
Wufei rejoined his friends, still confused about Togepi. Apparently, he still could not handle the concept that an egg could walk around and say cute things.
Of course, Heero and Trowa remained silent. Their goodbye was a slight nod.
Misty and Ash watched as the five boys disappeared around the corner. Soon, a roar filled the forest air as five gundams flew into the air. All five turned to the two pokemon trainers and gave them a sort of salute before blasting off for the horizon.
"Wow." Misty was in awe.
Ash rubbed the back of his head. "Maybe we should have gotten their autographs."
"Oh, Quatre took care of that for me." Misty pulled a rolled up poster of the Gundam boys out of her backpack. She sighed as she opened it up. "They're so dreamy..."
Now, it was Ash's turn to use the mallet.
"Misty!" He smacked her over the head.
Misty turned beet red with anger.
"No one uses my mallet except me!" She grabbed her mallet back and began to chase Ash around.
"Help!" Ash yelled.
Brock woke up when he heard the familiar sound of Ash and Misty arguing.
"Huh? Oh, guys, sorry I fell asleep..." Brock looked around to see that Ash and Misty were disappearing into the woods. "Hey, guys!" He jumped to his feet and ran after them. "Wait for me!"
Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam Wing or Pokemon, and I'm not making any money off this story and writing these things gets really monotonous so I'll stop now.
Author's notes: I just didn't have the heart to have Pikachu squished! That just would have been awful cuz Pikachu is my favorite anime cute creature! :-) Ryo-oki from Tenchi Muyo comes in a close second though. I still can't get over how the thing can meow when it turns into a ship though. Oh, and in case you're wondering, Heero's my favorite Gundam pilot in spite of his unsociable disposition. :-) And if you couldn't tell, I am an Ash/Misty fan. They're so cute together!
