Just got my sweptback bolt in, and wanted to leave some feedback for others who are considering this style for their Mosins. The sweptback bolt brings the handle much closer to the trigger, and makes cycling the action from the shoulder about three times easier. It is truly awesome. I can easily and very quickly cycle the bolt (with the rifle shouldered) with just my thumb and trigger finger. Jim does awesome work, I got my bolt back right on schedule and couldn't be happier. Not to mention, it makes the Mosin a helluva lot cooler looking!

I had two of these made with the safety ring... I highly recommend Jim. Just don't expect it back in a hurry. He will tell you that straight out. But it will come and you will be happy with the results.

Jim - I FINALLY put "your" bolt back in my old Mosin this morning. LONG story, but the bolt & the rifle had been separated for awhile. I was apprehensive, thinking the stock might have to be relieved somewhat - and since I had already done that to install a specialty trigger I wanted to avoid that. When I got them together I saw that NO RELIEVING at all was needed. Here's the bottom line: The fit is EXACTLY what I wanted. The handle "hugs" the wood closely, the "ball" is kicked out slightly to facilitate easy purchase, and when opened the bolt will not interfere will the planned scope. I AM THRILLED!! (now if I can only figure out how you do the job so reasonably). THANKS AGAIN!!...FredT
