360 On The Sand |
This moveis when
the skimboarder spins 360 degrees while sliding on the sand.
The easiest way to initiate rotation is to bend over and drag
your hand in the sand. |
Ollie |
A skimboarder traveling over water can push down with his
back foot and lift up with the front foot. Causing him to go into the air. |
Fire Hydrant |
. While sliding along the sand put
your hand on the nose of the board and lift your front leg up
behind you so that you are supported only by your hand and your
back foot. |
Flyaway |
. The skimboarder approaches the wave
straight on and jumps when he reaches the top. |
Coffin |
While sliding along the sand, bend down and
put both hands on your board. Then slowly sit down and
make sure you are centered on the board. Once you have
done this lay down on your back with your arms straight at your
sides. |
Pop Shuv-it |
The skimmer pop his board into the air while kicking it around 180
degrees (or more). |
Cut Back
|
. You want to time your run so that you reach the
water just after it gets flat so that you can make the
transition up onto the top of the water with no problems.
When you think its the right time to run, begin running at an
angle relative to the water line . Drop your
board and get on as you normally would. As you approach
the water, put your weight on your back foot, thereby lifting
the nose and allowing you to glide up onto the water as opposed
to plowing through it. After you are on top of the water
begin turning by applying weight to the back rail.
It may help you to put your hand in the water or near it and use
it as a pivot point to turn around. |
Acid Drop |
This move can be pretty hard on a windy day. Instead of throwing the board down onto the sand, you run with it then jump into the air with the board, putting it underneath your feet. Hopefully you will land flat and ride away. (Land flat is the hard part). |

Wrap |
This move, you approach the wave at an angle, then when hitting the top, instead of flying away, you turn and go the other way. |
Down the line |
This move is just like the wrap but instead of going in the opposite direction, you go in the direction you came from. |
Floater |
You aprroach the wave paralell, then turn in slightly to ride the wave.Then, as it is about to crash into white foam, launch of the top and land in the foam. |
Flips |
These are just launching off the wave and doing a flip.To get the idea and feel for when you do it with the board. |
Break Dancing* |
This is when you go into a fire hydrent then drag your hand down so you start to spin then when you are spining go into a lowkick so it looks like you are break danceing, you could also try to do a headstand but that would be hard. |
Tap Dancing* |
This is when you step back a little so your feet are both near the back of your board, then you put your back foot in frount of your frount foot so your feet are crossed then you spin the board(and your feet) so they arnt crossed any more. It is called this because it looks like you are tap dancing. |
Head Stand |
this is when you are riding get on the back of your board then go into a tripod(thats when your head and your hands are down but your knees are on your elbows) the lift your legs and BOOYA!! you have done it. |
Hand Stand |
this is when you get on the board you get on with your hands, rid along for a little like that then put your feet back down between your hands and continue riding. |
Fidler Crab* |
This is like a mini hand stand except your arms are wrapped around your legs. |
Low leg kick |
You duck down and put your back hand on the back of the board and kick you back leg forward. |
Clock Spin* |
Spining while on the sand like the second hand of a clock. |

Flip with board |
Just do a front or back flip and grab you board in any way you can keep it under your feet!. |
Superman |
Launching off the way, you kick the board forward and grab the tail, so you are fully streched out and flying like superman. |
360 |
Luanch off the wave and lean to one side, while doing this rotate your body in that direction. You would then grab on to the board so it doesnt decide to hit you in the face. |
