Chapter 6

As soon as the boys reached Quatre’s house they put the still unconscious girls in their cars.

"Trowa, could I speak with you for a second," Quatre called out to his best friend. Trowa nodded, but before he went over to Quatre he placed Dorothy in his car.

"Yeah Quatre," Trowa said as he walked over to Quatre.

"Well," Quatre began slowly. "Um… would you mind if I kept Cathy here until she wakes up?"

"Well, as long as Cathy doesn’t mind when she wakes up," Trowa answered. "This could be good because Dorothy could use Cathy’s bed in our trailer."

"Thanks, Trowa." Quatre still stood there holding a limp Catherine as the guys all left for their homes with a girl. As soon as everyone was gone Quatre headed inside.

He went into one of the guestrooms and placed Catherine on the bed. He stepped back to admire Catherine. She looked truly beautiful in the white wedding dress with teal ribbons laced in it and her hair pilled on top of her head. With one last look he left his sleeping angel and headed to the kitchen to make some tea.

With a cup of tea in hand he headed to the table to play solitaire. He wasn’t used to this silence. He grew up in a house with many sisters, then he lived with the Maganac Corps, and after the war he hired Rashid and a few others as his help so there was always some noise, but he decided to give them the week off. Solitaire just wasn’t cutting it, so he headed to the living room to watch TV.

After 2 long hours there was a scream in the other room. In less than a second Quatre was standing over a screaming Catherine.

"No, I will not marry you!" Catherine screamed in her sleep. Quatre gently shook Catherine. He stopped once her eyes fluttered open.

The person shaking her finally stopped and came into focus. The blonde was bending over her with aqua eyes filled with concern.

"Quatre…" Catherine whispered. She looked down to find herself in a wedding gown and groaned. "Man, I thought it was just a horrible dream."

"Yeah too bad it was not just a dream."

Catherine looked around. It dawned on her that she wasn’t in her trailer. "Um Quatre, where am I?"

"Well, right now you are in a room in my house." Before she could ask any questions he continued, "We took you girls from the Goblin Kingdom and brought you girls home. I asked Trowa if you could stay with here, that is if you wanted to." Quatre paused after saying this, waiting for Catherine’s approval.

"To be completely honest, I don’t care where I’m at as long as it has a bed and I can sleep." She looked up at Quatre to see him still staring at her waiting, "Yes Quatre I would be pleased to stay here."

Quatre’s face lit up, "Really, that’s great!" Quickly he tried to shrug off his excitement, "Besides, Trowa was going to use your bedroom for Dorothy." Noticing Catherine’s shocked expression he added, "Oops I think I said too much."

"This is great! I knew he liked her. He was good at hiding his emotions, but he could never hide his side-glances at Dorothy when she would come over." Catherine could not contain her excitement.

Her excitement caused Quatre to smile, ‘maybe her staying here is not such a bad idea after all.’ "Maybe I should let you rest," Quatre said noticing Catherine’s small yawns.

"No it’s Ok," Catherine protested in-between yawns.

"I will go so you can sleep." Quatre couldn’t resist the urge to rub Catherine’s cheek anymore. He then got up to leave. "Sleep good." Quatre shut the door behind him.

As soon as Quatre left, Catherine touched the spot where Quatre’s thin fingers came in contact with her skin. She wondered why it still tingled and why she felt a sense of emptiness once Quatre left the room, but before she could think it over she fell asleep.

Quatre went back to playing solitaire. He started getting tired so he headed for his room. Once in his bed he wondered how he could show Catherine that he loved her. He also wondered what he could do or say to make Catherine love him. But, like Catherine, Quatre was asleep before he could finish this thought.

The next morning Quatre woke up to hear noises in the kitchen. Thinking it could be a robber he grabbed his gun, which he rarely took out, and headed for the kitchen.

When he entered the kitchen he raised his gun and shouted, "Stand right where you are." The thief jumped and let out a small screech. The person turned around very slowly. "Catherine," Quatre said quickly putting away his gun. "What are you doing out of bed?"

"Well, I was bored so I went in search of you, but you were asleep. So I decided to come into the kitchen to make a soup in case you woke up hungry."

"Oh, but is everything fine?"

"Yeah, now it is." Quatre gave her a questionable look. "So you want some soup?" Before Quatre could answer she put a bowl in front of him.

"This is very good," Quatre said after taking a bite.

"Thank you," Catherine said. After about five minutes for silence Catherine couldn’t handle it, "So if Trowa brought Dorothy home because he likes her and the other boys brought home the other girls because they like them, did you bring me home because you liked me?"

Quatre paused for a second. ‘No Cathy it is because I am in love with you and I want to prove it to you,’ but he simply said, "Yes I like you." He quickly added, "A lot."

"Well," Catherine said at a loss for words. "I like you too… a lot."
