On a fine summer day, four friends walk from the graduation ceremony at the local academy for aspiring Mobile Suit pilots. However, the cool breeze carries with it a deadly graduation present for the quartet of rookies: an attack on the installation only moments after they exit the building!
Two Aries arrive and quickly cause a large amount of disorder, scattering the crowd and taking out what defenses the academy had set up. It seemed that the Aries were on a mission, as one breaks through the ceiling and scoops a piece of machinery out, and rocketed off as quickly as he had come, leaving the other to further the destruction that was already well underway. Not content to sit around and watch, the rookies decided to take matters into their own hands and fight the thieves in their brand-new Roadrunners.
Splitting into two pairs, Mihyaeru and Hisamitsu decided to take on the trigger-happy Aries that stayed behind, while Asano and Jubei pursued the Aries that had taken the part away. Round one: Mihyaeru and Hisamitsu VS OZ Aries.
Being nice and clever, the team all picked up vehicles sitting in the parking lot nearby to use as crude projectiles. In other words, they're going to throw cars at the damn thing. When the Aries caught on and blew up the rest of the cars around them, Mihyaeru decided to throw Hisamitsu's Roadrunner instead, with moderate success. Now Hisamitsu was face-to-face with a veteran pilot in a better mobile suit that actually had weapons. Uh oh. Hisamitsu fought valiantly as Mihyaeru advanced while throwing what cars he could find. Things started to look grim when a box of missiles blew up in Hisamitsu's face, Mihyaeru managed to get in there and get the Aries' machine gun away from him. Victory was imminent, but the Aries retreated into what was left of the building...only to be torn to shreds by a high-powered beam cannon fired by their instructer, Meister L. Success!
Round two: Asano and Jubei VS a better OZ Aries.
Taking with them a car each, the pair pursued the Aries that had stolen the part, which was a Power Cell that Asano himself spent an entire semester working on. The dynamic duo advanced upon the Aries, who didn't budge an inch. However, it did let off some warning shots and a few high-powered missiles to try to make them leave. But they would not be deterred. They continued to advance...and continued to be pummeled by the Aries, still not moving an inch. Finally they reached the Aries, battered but still alive. And the Aries then upped the ante by setting his machine gun down and drawing his beam sword. Great. Seizing his opportunity to get a weapon, Asano dove for the gun by the Aries' feet. After firing a few shots, the gun was eliminated by the Aries' skillful swordwork, exploding in Asano's hands and destroying his head. Jubei ended up tackling the Aries...onto Asano, pinning him. After a little pummeling and grappling, the Aries was getting discouraged, so it used its last two missiles. Fired straight into the air. Only to plunge back down, straight at the pigpile of Asano, the Aries, and Jubei. All three scrambled to get to safety, but were still badly damaged. The Aries charged one last time, and Asano decided to sacrifice his roadrunner to be thrown at the Aries to finish it. Fortunately, the Roadrunner never connected, as a lance caught it in midair and carried it safely away (they all would have died if it connected, see). Meister L had rescued them from certain doom! A quick shot to the Aries finished the battle. Back to the school...
Meister L briefed them on the situation. They are now OZ targets for foiling the plan to steal the power cell. They are to travel to antarctica and bury the cell for later pickup, check back in with L, then head to Africa to hide out.
