The Zero System is a mind-bending trip designed for combat. The system taps into a pilot's mind, transmitting combat analysis and strategies. This aspect keeps the pilot's focus on the battle at hand, quickens reaction time and improves preformance. Unfortunately, once the Zero System has taken hold, it's hard to let go. The System analyzes not only the battle but also reads the pilot's fears and thoughts, deciding for him/her who his/her enemies are, even if the pilot would not normally fight them, and commands the pilot to destroy them. Thus, a pilot can become an deranged killing machine simply by turning it on. Some pilots have even reported being shown glimpses of the future by the system. Just about every pilot who used the system had problems controlling it. Wing Zero and Epyon were the first two suits to incorporate the Zero System.
Using the system in your mobile suit is no exception. Upon activation, your stats will be boosted and damage increased. You may not run from battle. You can get battle hints from Fate. If any specific mobile suit that you encountered before enters battle, the system will command you to leave your present conflict and attack the suit, which has previously attacked you and is now identified as an enemy. Also, every turn, you must roll a die for a psychosis check. Each turn, the chances of going insane increase. If the value confirms psychosis, the charactes loses contol of the suit, and Fate gains control of it. Stats are boosted further and the battle continues until everything is destroyed (including the allies of the now-insane pilot. The pilot may not protest Fate's actions-you brought this upon yourself). If the insane pilot is eliminated, the battle will go on as normal. You MAY TURN IT OFF if you are STILL SANE. Turning Zero off will reset you back to normal. After a battle where the pilot flipped, if he/she survives, the pilot may resume the game, though he/she is in a state of mental disarray and psychosis.
