| Rachel is the main character in THE RING. Played by Naomi Watts, she is a headstrong reporter hell-bent on discovering exactly what this video tape is that she has heard about. She hears about the tape from Katie's friends after Katie's death which mysteriously occurred on the exact same night at the exact same recorded time of 10pm as Katie's other 3 friends deaths who watched the tape with her. Rachel sets out to work this chilling mystery. Determined that there is a solution she utilises her skills and resources as a reporter to find out everything she can before her 7 days are up after she watches the tape... |

| Martin Henderson plays Rachel Keller's ex love interest in THE RING as photography & video expert... Noah. When Rachel gets involved in the mystery of 'the tape' she naturally turns to Noah for his expert knowledge of video, etc... After refusing to believe that a simple tape could cause deaths and finally becoming baffled by 'the tape's lack of source code he winds up following the mystery solving path when he finally submits to what Rachel says when he starts noticing strange things that he cannot find an explanation for despite his excellent knowledge of photography & video... realising they all key back to him watching 'the tape' he teams up with Rachel to help save them both before their 7 days are up.. |

| Once husband to Anna Morgan and father of
Samara Morgan... Rachel's search for a solution brings her to the horse
ranch that is residence to Richard Morgan; played by Brian Cox. His cold shoulder reaction to
what Rachel tells him leaves her confused and suspicious and leads her
to push further into the case of Richard and his dead wife whom she saw
on 'the tape'... What she comes up with finally brings her back to the
house with answers and nothing but more questions as her time grows
short but the mystery unfolds further seeming to have no end.. After witnessing a brutal scene Rachel is left shaken with nothing but to find some way to access the medical records kept of the family at a psychiatric ward back on the main-land and a feeling that she is being taken back to the beginning of the mystery of 'the tape'. |

| Son of Rachel Keller, Aidan gets caught up in
the search to solve 'the tape's mystery when he watches it one night he
cannot sleep... David Dorfman's character suffers the same treatment that Samara gave her parents, he is shown images in his head after he and Rachel move into Katie's old house and Aidan takes Katie's old room... Aidan also seems to know a fair bit about Samara considering he does not play a big part in the mystery... Rachel's fascination that her son draws pictures of things she is about to see and the fact that Aidan claims that "she shows me things" brings her to turn to her 9 yr old son for help solving the puzzle.. |

Daughter of Richard and Anna Morgan, Samara suffered horrible visions as a child and had the ability to show these visions to any one around her... it was this ability that caused her mother to eventually murder her by throwing her into a well and sealing her child's new watery prison until she passed away 7 days later trapped in the well... |

who was with Katie the night she was brutally killed by the essence of
Samara Morgan... After witnessing the events that took place in Katie's room Becca is forced into a mental institution and seems to be keyed to Samara as she creepily is able to tell Rachel that she only has 4 days left until she is to die... It might be the fact that she witnessed Katie's death or the fact that she is in a mental institution but either way Becca is crippled to a life spent filed with fear.. |
