Finished Jeep Page 2 ... the adventure continues..

This picture is from the Clearfield Armed Forces Day Celebration this past year (2003) at the Clearfield Fairgrounds in Clearfield, PA. Both the MB and the M151A1 are mine. I sold the M151A1 in the fall to prepare for the birth of my son Jack this year. Having two jeeps running can keep a mans walllet a little light. I decided that it was best to keep the one vehicle that I worked so hard on to save and restore.

This picture is something else, the jeep is my 1944 Willys MB. The car to the right of my jeep is a 1941 Willys Americar that is locally owned by a great gentleman and his wife. This guy spent years restoring this thing to it prestine condition. We both were amazed to see the engines and what parts were common and interchangeable. I loved the fact that I showed up to this show thinking that it would be fun but I did not realize I would have such a blast! If you have never taken your Military vehicle to a local car show then you are missing out.

This is a little display that Mel and I set up for the St. Mary's Airport Auto Show. The turm out was nice but the weather was not cooperating so the number of people started to rapidly dwindle when the clouds came rolling in. All the gear you see on the tables belong to Mel he is also a collector and has a very nice collection.

Here Mel and I met up once again to place our Jeeps in the loal St. Mary's Auto Show in town. They placed us in a really poor spot, the people that were running the thing did not think we warranted the center parking that is directly behind me as i was taking this picture. All in all though when people walked into the parking area our two jeeps were the first thing that people wanted a look at. The small display to the left of my MB are the tool's and other accessories that were used with these vehicles. Of course the victrola was not issued but hey it plays some great Andrew Sisters on 78. Oh and by the way Mel is dressed in the full wool uniform if you were wondering.

Now here is a strange site...... people that were getting their gas just could not pull their eyes away from the jeeps as the passed by. My wife, Mel and one of his son's went out for a Jeep ride on the most perfect day. IF your from PA. you know what Sheetz is.
