As you can the rear cross member was in excellent condition and required only one spot that needed to be welded. Seems this jeep had been taken care of to some degree. At the time of this photograph I was still working on the combat rims. I was in no hurry since there were four good tires and rims already on the MB. This jeep did not come with the original combat rims. I found two first, then one, then three more from a great friend. I took the best of the components and now I have five good original combat rims.
That wood insert inside the bumper is sometimes an item that people forget. I personally did not even know there was such a thing on these jeeps.
The transmission and transfer case installed with bellhousing. I purchased the rebuilt transmission from Brent Mullins Jeep Parts in Texas. Excellent source for parts, a lillte pricey but your get quality and service that is second to none.
