How to find out your retention from your News-Server

0. make sure you are "CONNECTED" to your news-server first on tutorial page (setup newsleecher)

1. click the "All Groups" Tab

2. click "Fetch Group List"

3. right click on "alt.binaries.dvd" then click "Subscribe"
if you dont see "dvd group" you can use any "alt.binaries" groups on your list
if you dont see any "alt.binaries" groups.. that means that you isp is censoring binaries groups
meaning you CANNOT download any mp3s.. games or movies..your only option is to buy a premium news-server

4. click "ALL GROUPS" Tab .. again

5. right click on "alt.binaries.dvd"-"update"

6. click "start update (selected)"

7. click "Active Group" tab

8. click "Age" to sort oldest files to newest files ..for example the oldest file is 40.0 days..so my retention is 40 days .. meaning i cannot download any files over 40 days..
