Part Two
Quatre watched as Trowa took the sapling out of the satchel. Trowa turned
to him and shrugged. Quatre led the way to the sleeping chambers. Quatre went
into a room with Trowa close behind. Once inside Trowa placed the sapling
next to a window.
"Why did you bring it with you?" Quatre asked sitting down on a couch.
"I didn't want it left alone. Quatre what do we do now?" Trowa sat down
next to him.
"We rest. It's another three weeks to my home. We need the break. Myself
especially. I have been traveling for five months straight. I am beginning to
feel the affects."
"Will your family have any problems with me?"
Quatre looked at Trowa. Quatre's eyebrows drew together. "Why do you
asked?"
"You said your father wanted a male heir to take over after him. You wish
me to be your life mate. But neither of us can bare children. Will your
family have a problem with that?"
"To be honest Trowa I really don't know. I would hope that they will
accept you. I would think that if father wanted me to have a female life mate
he would have ordered it. Instead he told me to go out and look."
"I see." Trowa got up and headed for the bed.
"Where are you going?"
"I have not traveled so much in my life. I am very tired. I'm going to
take a nap."
"Oh." Quatre then grinned. "Do you want some company?"
Trowa looked over at Quatre. "Only if you behave yourself."
Quatre smiled even more and ran over to the bed and laid down next to
Trowa. "I promise." Quatre snuggle up close to Trowa throwing an arm and leg
of him. "Of course I wouldn't mind if you didn't behave." Quatre kissed
Trowa on the lips.
"Mmm You make hard to resist you know."
"I know."
"I'm not going to misbehave."
Quatre pouted. "Not even a little?"
"We'll see."

Heero sat at his desk and watched Duo sleep. He had been asleep for
several hours. Heero himself had only slept for few hours. But Duo, had been
asleep for over five hours. After waking Heero had gone to the library and
got an old book. It was one he remembered being read to him when he was
younger. He had returned to the room to find Duo still asleep. Heero sat down
and started to read.
A knock came to the door and startled Heero out of his reading. "Yes?"
The door opened to reveal Princess Relena. "Hello Your Highness." She
said in a laud voice.
"Shh. You'll wake him. And what do you want?"
"I came to see how you were." Relena continued to talk loudly.
"I am fine now lower your voice."
"Why?"
"Because he is asleep." Heero pointed over to Duo.
Relena looked over at the bed and then walked over to it. Heero was right
behind her. "He doesn't look magical."
"That does not matter. Now leave."
Relena turned to Heero and throw herself into his arms. "Oh Heero, why,
why does fate have to be so cruel?" She started to wail. "We should be
together. Not bonded to something we cannot stand!!"
Heero looked over at Duo on the bed and saw a violet eye open. And then
he saw a confessed Duo. Heero looked down at the woman in his arms. He let go
of her and headed for the bed and Duo. "Go away Relena."
"But Heero you and I...."
Heero sat down on the bed. "There is NO you and I, Relena. You just want
there to be. Now go before I call for the guards." Heero looked at Duo who
was still confused.
Relena then threw herself at Heero's bed. "PLEASE my Love!!!"
Heero glared at her. "Guards!!" With in seconds there were five guards in
the room. "Take the Princess to her chambers. She is distraught. Also inform
her future life mate. Perhaps she can clam the Princess."
"Yes sire!" The guards helped the princess up and carried her out of the
room.
Heero turned back to the pixie/elf next to him. "Good afternoon. Or I
should say good evening. Did you sleep well?"
Duo looked at Heero. "Yes. Heero who was that person?"
"Princess Relena. She wishes to bond with me."
"But I thought...."
"Shh. You and I shall be bonded. She is to bond with another or lose her
whole kingdom to her brother and Wufei."
"She..." Duo tailed off and went to Heero and wrapped his arms around his
waist.
"She what?" Heero wrapped his arms around Duo.
"Nothing." Duo ducked his head and snuggled closer to Heero.
Heero looked down at Duo. 'Why is he so sad. He seems like he’s trying

to crawl into my skin.’ “Duo are you alright?”
"Yes."
There was another knock on the door. "Who is it?"
"Your highness, it is time for evening meal." a person said.
"We shall be down in a moment."
"Yes sire."
"Duo are you hungry?"
"Yes."
Heero got up and went over to his closet. "Hmm, we need to put you in
some clothes." Heero pulled out a pair of pants and a shirt. "Here these
should work. They will be big on you though."
"That's fine." Duo got dress.

Part 3
Heero guided Duo to the dinning hall. They entered and headed for the
head of the table. The King was at the head and the Queen on his right. Heero
sat down to his left and Duo sat next to Heero. Wufei and Meiran sat beside
the Queen. Duo was relieved to have Trowa sitting next to him and Quatre on
the other side of Trowa.
"So, Prince Quatre, is this your chosen?" The queen asked.
"Yes he is, ma'am."
The queen smiled. "You're very hansom. What is your name?" She asked
Trowa.
"My name is Trowa, your majesty."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Trowa." She looked at Duo, and noticed that
he was not eating. "Are you not hungry?"
Duo met her eyes. "I'm sorry but I am unfamiliar with this food."
She smiled at him. "Well I suppose you are use to other foods. Is there
something we can get you?"
"Um... some fruit would be nice."
"Of course. Stasha bring some fruit for the prince’s chosen."
"Thank you." Duo was brought some fruit. He knew some of them, they grew
in the forest but some he did not know. There was a yellowish green one that
was oblong.
"Its a pair."
"Huh?" Duo looked to Trowa.
"That's a pair. I seem to remember it. I think its sweet. If I remember
right it taste better if it's cooked."
"Oh." Duo looked at it, and then took a bite of it. It was ok. Then he
looked over at what Heero was eating. "What's that?" Duo pointed to something
on Heero's plate.
"Its called steak." Heero answered.

“What’s ‘steak’?”
"Cow." Trowa told him.
Duo looked at Trowa. "What's a ‘cow‘?"
"It's a large animal that gives us many things, like milk and meat and
leather for clothes." The queen answered him.
"Its an animal?"
"Many humans raise them for food. Like the ogres do with mice." Trowa
told him. However the rest of the hall stopped eating and looked at their
food for a few moments.
"Ohhhh, I see." Duo turned back to Heero. "Is it any good?"
"Would you like a piece?"
"Yes please." Heero cut a small piece for Duo and fed it to him. Duo sat
and chew it for a moment. "It's good."
"Would you like some more?"
"Yes please."
"Careful Duo, don't eat too much. You've never really eaten meat
before." Trowa said.
"I'll only give you a small amount." Heero was telling Trowa more than he
was telling Duo.
Duo ate happily. Towards the end of the meal Duo started feeling tired
again. He couldn't understand it he had slept most of the day. Perhaps the
trip took more out of him than he thought. However the food on his plate was
becoming blurry. He looked up and everything in the room started to spin. He
looked over at Heero and started to say something when everything went black.
Heero felt Duo's eyes on him and was turning his head when the elf
fainted. Heero immediately had his arms round Duo. "DUO!! Duo are you
alright? Duo wake up!" Heero gently shook him.
Trowa stood when he saw Duo faint against Heero. He stepped over so he
could look at Duo better. Trowa carefully check for pulse and then looked
around Duo's head. Trowa was aware that the whole hall was watching him but
at the time he didn't care. He was more concerned with Duo.
"Is he alright?" Quatre asked. He had felt a small trimmer in Duo just
before he faint. Not enough time to do anything.
"He's alive. I think he's exhausted." Trowa answered.
"He has been sleeping all day." Heero said.
"Aa. Maybe its because the tree is up rooted."
"Nani?"
"The tree Heero is where he was born." Trowa whispered so only Heero
could here him. "It gives him life-energy. Because it is up-rooted it can not
give him the proper amount of energy."
"Hn. So what do we do?"
"Take him to bed. He needs his sleep. But tomorrow you need to replant
the tree."
Heero nodded and picked up Duo. He looked to his father who excused him.
Heero then carried his chosen up to his chambers. Trowa sat back down next to
Quatre.
"Will he be alright?" The queen asked.
"I believe so. You'll have to forgive him. He's never been out of the
forest that was his home."
"So maybe he should return." Relena said.
Everyone looked at Relena. Trowa shook his head. "He will be fine. He
just needs to rest."

Heero walked into his bedchambers and took Duo to the bed. He gently laid
him down and sat next to him. Heero brushed away the pixie/elf prince's
bangs. "I hope you'll be alright."
Duo opened his eyes and smiled at him. "I'll be fine."
Heero smiled a rare smile, one meant only for Duo. "Tomorrow we plant the
tree. Will that make you feel better?"
Duo smiled even more. "Oh yes!"
"Good now you rest." Heero got up to leave when he felt Duo grab his arm.
Heero turned to look at him.
"Stay with me? Just hold me." Heero climbed into the bed and held Duo.
"Heero can I borrow something?"
"What ever you want."
"Its not that easy Heero. I have only done this with one other person."
Heero's eyebrows came together. He could only think of one thing. "I wish to
borrow some of your life force."
"Nani?" That wasn't what Heero expected.
"Your life force. Mine is so weak, I need something to keep me going 'til
we plant the tree."
"Aa. Of course you may take whatever you wish."
"When we are bonded we shall give and take life-force as if it is air."
Duo closed his eyes. In his mind he was chanting words. He began to glow.
Heero sat and looked at him in awe. Then Heero noticed that he too was
glowing. He felt a little tired but not to bad. Then the glowing stopped and
Duo opened his eyes and looked at Heero. “Are you OK?”
